I returned from Bulgaria this morning. We lived in Summer Dreams in the Alen Mak building (2 stars), room 221. The rooms are 3-bed, cramped, but the legs did not break on the corners of the beds. It all depends on the layout of the room. The refrigerator and TV worked properly, we were even lucky to catch Russian channels. There was an antediluvian non-working air conditioner on the balcony, some managed to make it work by manipulating the light switches))) They were really cleaned somehow, but the bed linen was changed regularly. At night, large beetles often flew in, so it is better to curtain the balcony. There are 5 hangers for three people, so it's better to bring your own. Here is the disgusting bathroom. The shower drain quickly becomes clogged with sand, and in some rooms a real flood begins. The toilet can normally be flushed only with a basin. There is mold on the ceiling. Now about nutrition. The buffet was somehow not very Swedish. Something could be taken in unlimited quantities, and, for example, ice cream was given only one scoop per person, and there was a long queue behind it, but if you make friends with the waiters, you can get decent portions. The food there is rather unusual, but you can eat well, only you can’t take anything out of the dining room, not even a piece of bread. The water in the bottle with "mineral water" turned out to be from the tap, which was very "kindly" reported by the attendants, so it's better to buy drinks in stores. For an afternoon snack they give sandwiches with ham and cucumber and cookies. All this is not for everyone. Late dinners include melted cheese sandwiches and halva sandwiches. About entertainment. Animators work well, an interesting program was invented. Groups of children are optionally united into states, each of which is headed by 1 animator, so-called "bonds" are awarded for participation in various camp events, for which you can redeem, for example, night swimming in the pool,
night trip to the sea or jumpers. Every morning begins with a morning gathering at 9:00 am, at which the program of the day is negotiated, and their chips are the "Arriva" dance. Then the beach until 12, talking games at 12:00, "UN summit" at 13:00, gathering of states at 13:30.14:00-16:00 - "siesta" (quiet time), 16:00-18:00 - beach / pool, 18:00 - interest clubs, 21:00 - theme party (we had "beach", "body art", "water", etc. ) Discipline depends solely on the children themselves and their leaders. Some groups are strict with this, but some go by themselves, drink, smoke and it is not clear what they are doing. Therefore, my advice is: look for a reliable leader to whom you can completely entrust your child. Now about what is outside the hotel. Summer Dreams has its own beach, 8 minutes walk from the hill (15-20 minutes back), equipped with umbrellas. On it, animators spend beach games (volleyball, frisbee). Rescuers really watch the children, do not allow them to swim behind the buoys (depth is about 1.70 m). There are no jellyfish, but a lot of algae. They ride a banana nearby, it costs 10 lev per person, but if you say that you bring 6 people from Dadi Kolya, then it will be 8 each. On the way to the beach, on the stairs, there is a shop-cafe, in which you can change euros for levs at the rate of 1.9 (in the hotel 1.8). Fruits are sold a little lower, but they are expensive, you can find 2-3 times cheaper in the markets (only the markets themselves are problematic to find, because there are none nearby). Even lower is the uncle offering excursions. It is better to take from him, because. the hotel is much more expensive. We went to 2: to Balchik and to Varna. Excursion to Balchik includes a visit to the "ceramic factory", where you can buy inexpensively various hand-painted ceramics (beautiful); then comes Cape Kaliaktra - a small piece of land that goes 2 km into the sea, there are already souvenirs there, but for now it’s better not to buy; and finally Balchik. In Balchik there will be a visit to the botanical garden, and after it a WHOLE STREET OF SOUVENIRS!! ! Here it is already worth stocking up, because. You will not find such a collection of souvenirs anywhere else nearby. Silver is quite cheap here, but you can find even cheaper in the shops of Varna. There was a shopping tour in Varna. In general, Varna is a city with a population of 700.000 people who hardly speak Russian, so it’s better to go there from an excursion. First, you will be brought to the market (this is where it is worth buying fruit), near which there are shops with silver and consumer goods. The bank near the market has the highest exchange rate (1.95 leva for 1 euro). Then there will be a shopping center where during the sale you can buy beautiful branded items for almost nothing (when we went, the discounts were 50-70%). You can go on an excursion to the old town of Nesseber, but it takes a long time to go there, and it costs 25 lev. It takes about 25 minutes to walk to Golden Sands from the hotel, but there is practically nothing to do there. Well, that's about all.
