This is the second year in a row I've been going to Bulgaria with my children, last year to Sunny Beach, we decided to go to Golden Sands. In Golden Sands, both the weather and the sea are much colder. But if you like waves, then here they are. I didn't like the Prestige Hotel at all, there are so many people, there are queues everywhere. You can't check in earlier, even if you arrive at 6 am, wait until 3 pm. The water in the water park and pools is very cold, it's not comfortable for children, the rooms are bad, the shower is barely warm, the water in the toilet doesn't flush. The food is not bad, but there is little variety, for those with a sweet tooth there is nothing here except sponge cakes, we didn't even take them, they are not tasty. There were watermelons only once in all 10 days, and even then they were not sweet. There were no normal fruits at all - oak apples, pears and peaches. Ice cream 2 hours in the afternoon, of which the queue lasts 1 hour. From what I liked - snack bar, there are delicious waffles and potato pancakes, and I liked the animators, they tried, at the disco they included Ukrainian songs, by the way, the hotel contingent is 90% Ukrainian. Women with children, a little Romanians and Moldovans. The beach is far, going up and down the stairs is not convenient at all. There are no free sunbeds on the beach, go to the paid beach - they won't even let you put your things on the sand, and the free beach is rocky, not cleaned, you can break your legs. You can rent a bike at the hotel, but only in the morning for 1 hour and with a deposit of 100 leva. In general, I didn't like Golden Sands as a resort, there is little entertainment, few shops, it's dirty, the bus stop where you waited is such that it's scary to imagine it as a bus stop, such disrespect for people. If you still go to rest in Golden Sands, then take the local bus to Varna, it's better there, there is a place to walk, shopping centers, where there are many different branded stores. I don't recommend going to the dolphinarium - the program is in Bulgarian, nothing is clear, and the performance is 1 out of 12, terrible, the dolphins jumped once, and the ticket is expensive.
I do not recommend the hotel, with children, look for something with free sunbeds and good food.
Last year we were in MPM Astoria (Sunny Beach), it was great there: food, watermelons, melons, baklava, sunbeds, corn, ice cream - from morning till night, eat as much as you can, the hotel is almost on the beach, small and comfortable.
