I was there from 14.08 to 03.09 2011. Wonderful hotel, excellent medical facilities, wonderful staff.
Operator - Terma Travel. No complaints. There were no group transfers for Russian-speakers to Jachymov, only to Karlovy Vary, so I took an individual transfer (165 euros) from the airport to the hotel, a little over an hour, with the help of the Karlovy Vary partner Terma (I can’t remember the name, it’s a pity, because the people working there are pleasant and Russian-speaking) .
The building of the hotel is pompous, preserved since 1912, bright, with high ceilings. Everything is compact and well thought out. I was immediately struck by the conditions for people with disabilities and the elderly in general: the sanatorium, after all, but everything is thought out everywhere, from wide corridors, ramps, special handrails to elevators without acceleration and with seats. Later I noticed that if it is very difficult for a person to move around and he lives in the wing of the building above the reception, and not above the restaurants, then he will have to overcome the steps down from the reception to the lobby, and then up to the restaurants. Then it is easier to move around your floor to the elevator in the other wing, or ask in advance for a room in the wing above the restaurants, or ask for help from the staff (they will always help).

90% of vacationers are elderly people, the rest are either accompanying people, or those who have encountered spinal problems much earlier than retirement age. 85% of vacationers are Germans, 10 percent are Czechs, the rest are Russian-speaking, a couple of Azerbaijanis.
The staff is pleasant. Focused primarily on the Germans - the German language is a priority, they practically do not know English, therefore they try to understand in a mixture of Russian and Czech (close to Ukrainian and Russian). Medical staff, bartenders and waiters, as well as a representative of Terma speak Russian to a sufficient extent.
There was one requirement for the room - air conditioning. The usual room split system is available only in deluxe rooms on the fifth floor, partly attic. Decided to be content with it. The rest of the rooms do not have air conditioning, neither individual nor general. Rationale - the hotel is located in the mountains, it is cooler there, and the main contingent does not need air conditioning. Yes, compared to low-lying Karlovy Vary, it is much cooler. However, in August it was quite hot, and I never regretted choosing a simpler room, but with air conditioning.
The room is ok, everything is there. There is one minus in the bathroom - a cramped shower, although the room itself is quite large. In general, for one person - the number is more than sufficient.
The hotel is located on a mountainside, the views are very similar to the Ukrainian Carpathians in the Yaremche / Mykulychyn region, only the vegetation is different. On the mountain, at the foot of which the hotel stands, there are paths, you walk like in an ordinary forest. On the same paths, the Germans are engaged in Norwegian walking. There is access to the mountain at about a third of its height directly from the hotel, at the level of the third floor.
WiFi is fast and stable; Smoking in the hotel is possible only on the terrace of the cafe and in general on the street, of course, without disturbing others. Rooms are not allowed. There is an ironing room on the floor.

I arrived at the hotel in the late afternoon, after dinner I was examined by a nurse - pressure, basic health features and medications taken, an appointment for tests. In the morning - a blood test, a doctor's examination (Russian-speaking) and treatment appointments, always individual depending on the needs and general condition, included in the cost of treatment / accommodation. It is advisable to check with your doctor before traveling which procedures (or at least general directions of treatment) are indicated, and then check with the brochures on the resort website Everything that is described on the hotel / resort website is true, plus you can send them an email with questions (for example, regarding special procedures) in Russian.
The basis of treatment is radon baths, physiotherapy exercises (including in the pool), massages, physiotherapy, balneology and hydrotherapy. You can purchase additional procedures at will, well, after consulting with your doctor. In the morning near the sister's room on the first floor - imported water from Karlovy Vary, I do not remember the number of the source, I only remember that the water is of the most general effect. There are wellness programs at the hotel.
Very close by is the resort center "Agricola", where there are swimming pools, a salt cave, and various massages, of course for a fee, the prices are reasonable, when buying a package of 5 or 10 sessions - discounts up to 20%. People come to Agricola from Karlovy Vary and Pilsen for a day to relax on the weekends (because on weekends there are much more people and it is more difficult with the schedule of procedures). I took some additional relaxation packages for myself at Agricola - wonderful.
The resort is unique, and people have been coming here for more than a year, I talked with such people, they say that it only helps here (except that they didn’t go to Austrian resorts along the same profile, but they are much more expensive there). There really is an effect of treatment (I judge by myself), but it lasts differently for everyone. As the attending physicians at the hotel warn, the greatest effect of the treatment can come in the second or third month after the treatment and last for someone for six months, for someone up to one and a half to two years. Of course, it all depends on the implementation of the recommendations in everyday life...
On Sunday there are no procedures at the hotel, and on Saturday - only radon baths. The entire medical base is in the hotel, in the basement and on the third floor. An exception is brachiradium therapy, but it is close.

I dare to advise - when scheduling procedures, immediately evaluate your desires for excursions (general information about them is on the stand near the reception, well, it would be nice to talk with a representative of the tour operator as early as possible) and in general by the time of procedures, and ask the staff to schedule the schedule in the way you need . Otherwise, you may end up running all day between offices, or vice versa, a torn schedule with uncomfortable intervals between procedures, and even hindering the excursion program.
Due to the orientation towards the Germans in the hotel and in the resort as a whole, everything is performed to the nearest minute, from breakfasts and procedures to the arrival of transfers or the movement of intercity buses. At 150 meters from the hotel there is a bus stop to Ostrog and Karlovy Vary (30 minutes maximum). Schedule - at the bus stop and near the hotel reception.
For those who can not occupy themselves (reading, thinking, talking, walking) - it can be boring. Jachymov is a town of two or three streets, with a couple of cafe-bars, with the necessary shops. You can go to Karlovy Vary or on numerous bus tours from Thermae Travel - in Western Bohemia (Karlovy Vary, Marianske Lazne, Loket, Moser and Becherovka factories, I don’t remember the rest of the excursions), to Dresden, Vienna, Munich (both for an excursion and for shopping), through the castles of Southern Bavaria and Munich, to Nuremberg plus Regensburg and Bamberg, to Switzerland, to the Benelux, to Paris (the last two - more than three days). Duration - from one day to three. Prices are acceptable. Groups are formed in all resorts of the Karlovy Vary Region, collection is usually in Karlovy Vary, to Var - an individual transfer is included in the cost of the excursion. Traveled around Bohemia on several excursions. I was in Munich and in the castles of Bavaria (Neuschwanstein, Linderhof) - great, a lot of impressions, a small group, a good driver and excellent guides, a normal troika hotel for an overnight stay in Munich (Duke Wilhelm, on the street of the same name near the city center), good in terms of ratio price-quality restaurants-cafes, where it was proposed to eat during the tour. On the way back, we were delayed, and the driver of the private transfer from K. Var to Jachymov patiently waited for more than an hour, more than one in the morning. I didn’t have enough for more excursions - after all, I came for treatment, and bus excursions are not easy for the spine, plus there was something to think about, and the treatment schedule was drawn up without taking into account excursions (my mistake due to ignorance), but it was impossible to change it.
Meals - in one of the two restaurants (for residents of the upper categories of rooms - in the other two). Took full board (plus treatment). Breakfast is a buffet, for lunch and dinner you order a complex for one or two days in advance from the proposed five (if I remember correctly) sets, or according to your diet numbers, and vegetables, fruits, desserts, drinks on the buffet. Generally ok. Desserts are quite okay, but with fruit is a common problem for this part of Europe, in the vast majority of cases they are tasteless compared to those available in Ukraine ☺ Near the entrance to the hotel there is a shop with everything you need and souvenirs.

In the evenings, the main entertainment in the hotel is communication in the lobby, plus a lobby bar with a terrace. The prices are somewhat ridiculous, in comparison with Kiev, and even more so with Moscow. Sometimes there are concerts.
There are a lot of wasps in August, and on the terrace of the lobby bar, and in the open windows of the rooms they fly (the maids left the windows open, then they had to catch the wasps). Who does not want to catch wasps from the blinds in the room - keep the windows closed / covered ☺
In general, the stay is comfortable, the treatment is effective, a pleasant pastime, a lot of impressions (in addition, I spent three more days in Prague on the way back).
