We rested with my son (8 years old) from October 30 to November 5.2011. We stayed at the Nordic Hotel. Very friendly staff. Almost everyone speaks Russian. We arrived in the evening and the girl at the reception told in great detail where you can eat inexpensively and drew on the map how to get there and walk to the Powder Gate (where we had to meet the guide in the morning). We walk with Danila at a leisurely walking pace for 20-25 minutes. If by bus (No. 207), then 3 stops. The bus stop is practically nearby (2-3 minutes). Tram (No. 9) runs along another street (it also takes 2-3 minutes to go in the opposite direction), but it goes to Wenceslas Square. That is, you can get to almost any place quickly and without problems. Now a hotel room: a large room (2 rooms), bright. The temperature is adjusted according to your desire in each room. The furniture is not new, but it is enough. 3 dressers, table, armchair, a whole bunch of sofas, wardrobe. In the bedroom - beds, bedside tables, chest of drawers, TV. Free wi-fi. I talked to my husband via Skype. Towels were changed once in 8 days and cleaned daily. Breakfast is not great, of course, but did not leave hungry. The only thing that upset - the lack of vegetables and fruits. But there are a lot of small shops nearby and buying them is not a problem. The kitchen has everything you need: dishes, refrigerator, stove (works well). The kitchen helped a lot with my son when we were very tired in the evening and did not want to go anywhere. Yes, and another very important aspect: a computer, money was left in the room without fear. We left the cleaning lady in the middle of the rest 5 euros on the bed, come back, everything is in place. In the morning we meet her at breakfast, I ask why she didn’t take it. She replies that it is not customary with them, she can take it only if I hand it over. Like this! Very satisfied with the rest. We recommend the hotel. Next time we will go again to Nordik. Budget friendly and quite comfortable. Well, Prague is fabulous! As for excursions, I can only say one thing: next time I will book a hotel myself, and buy excursions either at a hotel or at tourist kiosks (there are many of them in Prague).
