Hotel Rococo Prague were in August 2013. Excellent hotel. Nutritious breakfasts for Europe: 4-5 slices of meat, amazing pate, 2-3 cheese slices, fruits, buns, muesli, sausages, scrambled eggs / scrambled eggs, vegetables, tea, coffee, cocoa, juices. Breakfasts from 7 to 10. And at 9.30 the food didn't end. Hall is almost non-existent. Polite receptionists, they don't speak Russian well, but they try to help. The key was demagnetized - they immediately changed it, gave out a convenient map of the city, a glass broke - they immediately removed it and did not subtract anything. Towels were simply folded, not changed. Replaced after request. Perfectly cleaned white jeans for 200 kr. The hair dryer is rather weak - just dry your hair, do not style it. Cleaned daily, cleaning lady from Ukraine, left her 50 kr. 2 times thank you very much. Location. The hotel is located on Wenceslas Square, the very center of Prague. Fashion shops on Vaclovka. It takes 20-30 minutes to walk to the historical center of Prague - Staromynska Square. I went with a child, and I myself was not used to long hikes, having wandered around I felt these 30 minutes on my feet. When I go to Prague again, I will take a hotel closer to Staromynska Square, with street cafes, souvenir shops, horse-drawn carriages. A wooden stage was assembled on Wenceslas Square three times, then some rock performers, then teams played volleyball. And for some reason, no one mentioned prostitutes in any review. Prostitutes from Bulgaria stood in flocks near the Rococo and the neighboring hotel. They didn’t interfere with anyone, didn’t pester, they just stood and shot with their eyes. I didn’t see them again in Prague, but after 9-10 pm they always stood at our hotel. There are few household tips in the reviews, so I write in detail, especially for those who travel, like me for the first time. Souvenirs. A friend bought it inexpensively in Karlovy Vary. We didn't go by ourselves. If you go from the Powder Tower straight to the station, then pass by Bill. There we bought waffles with different flavors cheaper than in Karlovy Vary. Becherevka is a little more expensive, but cheaper than in all of Prague. They also bought lemon Becherevka and liquor there, they didn’t try this in Moscow. By the way, Duty Free is sold at the same price. We also bought red beer in Duty Free, we liked it. Packed with a ceramic lid for a gift just right. Carrying alcohol bought not in Duty Free in hand luggage is prohibited! If you walk from Wenceslas Square to Staromynska (parallel to Narodnaya Street) there is a market, it closes early. This market has the cheapest souvenirs. Not yet expensive souvenirs on Staromynska Square itself, although everyone assured us that it was expensive there, but there was competition in cost. We did not change money, we were advised by Arab exchangers, but we bought in advance in Moscow, it turned out to be more profitable. Nutrition. We were advised at the restaurant "At Midvedko" on Narodnaya Street, this is a beer bar with different types of beer. We are not beer lovers, but people go there willingly. I really liked the restaurant on Wenceslas Square with trains. Toy trains bring bar products. My child was delighted. I took salmon and trout, tasty, but not cheap. The restaurant is located between the horse and the Rococo hotel. Between the train and the coffee house, on the street near the restaurant, as an example, soup in a bun is on display. So in this restaurant they demanded a tip from us (I always give, but I leave the amount at my discretion). The waitress brought a calculator along with the bill, counted her 10%, and everything would be fine, but then, recalculating the bill, I realized that I was 100 kr. shortchanged. Worst of all, it didn't taste good! I liked the restaurant "Kotlet". On the street, near Staromynska Square. Delicious pork ribs and apple strudel. In general, my advice is, if you don’t know what to order, order a duck. It's delicious everywhere. It should be borne in mind that portions of the knee or duck are large. On the street they bought trundik - dough on a stick. Hot dogs with sausages are sold everywhere. On Staromynska Square, they bought something like pilaf, potatoes, cheap and satisfying in disposable plates. The youth willingly understood. Shoes should be flat, comfortable, you have to walk a lot. Ride a catamaran on the Vltava. There are also catamarans and boats. Ducks and one brave swan swam behind us, we fed them bread. In general, in places where swans gather, feeding them is a whole show. They swear among themselves, and touchingly beg for bread. We visited the Black Theatre. Theater of light and shadow. We chose the children's performance "Alice's Adventure". Expensive tickets. In the first act beautifully, to the music, objects moved mysteriously, Alice flew, touching clowns. The child laughed to tears. But in the second act, a cartoon appeared on the screen behind Alice. Where Eve plucks the forbidden fruit. And now our Alice, naked, appears on stage with an apple. Another naked girl approaches her. Then the storyteller shows a couple of tricks with a cloth, as if covering Alice. This performance ended. Silence hung in the hall and the audience left the hall with bewildered smiles. Zoo. The zoo is wonderful! Although I also love Moscow very much, and do not consider it worse. At the box office they gave us a map in Russian. My advice, before going around the whole zoo on foot, and it is huge, take a ride on a train. Both on the small circle and on the upper large circle there are locomotives. Look first, which animals are not hidden, which enclosures are open. My child was most impressed by the penguins. We took the subway to the zoo. Everything is convenient and simple. In the metro, the next station is displayed in the running line. From the metro by bus number 112 to the final one, you won't get lost. We visited the botanical garden - opposite the Zoo. Walked, but not impressed. The meeting party we had was Amigo. We met quickly. We got on a small bus. We were three couples who lived in the center. The driver handed out excursion programs and offered to buy them from him. The first hotel was two ladies. They got stuck for an hour with the arrangement of excursions, and only after my intervention they stopped asking questions and let the driver go. My daughter was exhausted while waiting. We drove another 5 minutes and ended up at our hotel. It would probably be wiser to bring a small child first, and then sell excursions. We also bought 3 excursions. We did it quickly so as not to delay the third pair. Excursions Prague. The first walking tour of the Old City. Free (included in the ticket). The people were 50 people. Everyone was given a receiver and an earpiece. Very convenient, you can hear everything for 100 steps, then they handed out the same ones on all excursions. It was raining on the day of the walking tour. The only bad weather day of our trip. They shook us, telling something, the walk dragged on, because. all the time waiting for everyone to catch up. The guide told something, but nothing interesting, and there was no memory left, the feeling that they were just wandering. Then we rode on a boat along the Vltava. Very nice! On the embankment, blacks sell tickets for a boat, I don’t know how much it costs, I regret that I didn’t ride. In the evening we had a tour of the Legends and Myths of Prague. For two hours in the rain we stood alternately in one or the other arch around Staromynskaya Square. Guide Sergey told about 4 ghosts, my daughter thought, and a couple of legends. The rest of the time he tried to joke. We got wet in two hours, boring and tiring. Another guide conducted such an excursion with friends, interesting, exciting stories, they went to the ghost museum, then they met a “real ghost”. Before taking this tour, you need to find out in detail what will happen and who will lead. They say that the Skeleton is not bad. Cesky Krumlov and Gluboka over the Vltava. I bought a tour for 45 euros. Bus 50 people We drove to the castle for 2 hours. The child is hard. The castle is amazing! They went up the hill in a train. There is a beautiful park near the castle, we were given 15 minutes of free time. But what is 15 minutes? ! Warm up and it's time to enter the castle. I wanted to walk through the halls without a guide, and then take a walk in the park near the castle. But you cannot walk through the halls on your own. They listened for an hour about Karl and Rudolf. I didn’t remember anything, the extraordinary halls and carved ceilings remained in my memory. Then another 40 minutes for Cesky Krumlov. We went up the hill. On the observation deck admired the roofs of the town. Then gallop down the street to the main square of the city. While we ran after the guide, she told us something, but it was not interesting. While we were on the bus, our guide advised us to have lunch centrally. Like, we are only an hour in the city, while you are looking for a restaurant, while waiting, you will not have free time. Reasonably. Everyone agreed to dine for 250 kr per person. I have not eaten more than delicious food during my entire trip, and I have never paid more! Carp, if it was a carp, gray in color, and undercooked potatoes! We had lunch, 40 minutes left. They did not dare to go somewhere deeper along the streets, they were afraid to believe it, and so they wandered along the street along which they came to the square. There is a bazaar where everything is made by the hands of the inhabitants. They saw the work of a blacksmith and bought awesome nut waffles. Back 2.5 hours watching a movie on the bus. Then I met Russian tourists, they bought a ticket on the street for 40 euros. There were 2 pairs in the small bus. They also visited the Castle, staying inside for 30 minutes and walking in the park for an hour. They were shooting from a bow. Then we arrived in the town of Chshkiy Krumlov, the guide told everything very interestingly, walked along several streets and gave 2 hours of free time. They also left at 8 am and returned at 8 pm, just like us. Only they have the feeling that they have been in a fairy tale. Almost everything depends on the organization of the tour and the guide. We also had a walking tour of Prague Castle and Vysehrad. Guide Tatiana. We did not get on this excursion with our main group, however, for some reason we were not rewritten the next day, as we asked, but Tatyana still took us to her group. We were lucky! It was a fairy tale, with love for Prague, with interesting stories. Tatyana talked about modern life in Prague. She took us to all the interesting places, advised us where to take pictures. . The tour was interesting and not boring. At the end of the tour, she showed us an extraordinary park at the bottom of the Prague Castle. After the tour, we visited the Golden Lane and the Toy Museum. I really liked the vintage toys, and my daughter liked the barbie exhibition. In the evening we went to Morchan. This is a restaurant on the outskirts of Prague. In the large hall, tables are laid, delicious, wine - a river, becherevka, beer. Performers perform, dance folk dances, sing. Work with the hall. They give to play folk musical instruments, invite to dance, play popular melodies. Russians played: Moscow evenings and Kalinka. They egged on. Filipinos are tireless. Americans are mostly elderly. Where are they going to take us? ! We also went to Detenitsy. The castle loses in comparison with Gluboka nad Vltava. But there are a lot of weapons and stuffed animals. We quickly walked around the castle. We went down to the restaurant. Everything in the room is antique. There are candles on the tables. They gave me meat, a mug of beer. Rolls. The waiters, this is not “At Marchan” for you, did not immediately come, they were rude. Uncombed in ancient clothes. They showed a performance: a sword fight; the inquisition tortured the witch (the girl from the hall) and tried to burn her; belly dancing on tables; fire show. My child really liked it. She squeezed into the front rows of spectators, but in general the hall is large and not very visible. Many stood up on chairs. Prague is great! This is my first trip to Prague, I hope to repeat it in a few years. kipoves@yandex. ru write if I can answer.
