What stereotypes were imposed on us about the Germans? In my imagination, the German looked like this: definitely shorts and a decent belly! In one hand is a large mug of beer, and in the other - a fork, with sausage. At the same time, he also dances!

Well, not so bad! I decided to go for a run around Bavaria. I like ski resorts, castles, beer and sausages!

Start, of course, from Munich.

The choice fell on the hotel, the British company Holiday Inn, city centre.

There is a parking lot, a bar, breakfast, and a normal price for a room in the central part of the city.

The evening turned out to be noisy, in cigarette smoke. There was no restaurant, but you could eat at the bar. Typical American menu: beer, french fries, sausages. . .

We decided to dedicate the day to walks, rest, and museums.

Spacious streets, cleanliness. Great roads. On intercity highways, the speed is 130 km. Maybe this saved us from traditional fines.

After 50 kilometers, from Munich, we turned off the road, at random. We drove along the country roads. I wanted to see the German hinterland... We looked into a rural store, stood in line. Bought coffee, with milk and apple strudel.

The next day, we decided to go see the ski resorts.

We chose the district of Halblech, not very far from Munich. The prices there are reasonable and quiet wonderful places.

The entire ski area, including the Allgä u Alps, has 70 lifts and 140 km of ski slopes.

Nearby is a huge artificial lake - Forggensee, 12 km long, at the very foot of the Alps. Pure clear water.

The beginning of winter turned out to be little snowy and the lifts were not working yet. But we were not very upset, because the wonderful nature, beautiful houses and restaurants, with local food, did not give a reason.

Early in the morning, we settled at the hotel. And we went to the most recognizable castle in the world - Neuschwanstein.

A few words about the hotel. The price is 130 euros/day. Underground parking, with lifts directly to the hotel. Price - more

20 euros, don't remember exactly. Plus breakfasts, tax, etc. - about 200 € / day, runs up. Nothing fancy, the price matches the quality.

The castle is a 2-3 hour drive from the center of Munich. It can be seen from the road, at a distance of several kilometers.

And even from there, it's amazing!

Tickets are sold downstairs in the village of Hohenschwangau. Only! If you are going to visit the castle in the summer, there will be no tickets after noon. In autumn, there are fewer queues, but the castle is open only until 16:00. Huge queues, but also a lot of cashiers.

You can go up to the castle on foot or on horseback. I do not remember the price, 6-8 euros, one way. We chose the carriage. On the ticket to the castle, the time is indicated. A couple of hours, with a margin. Previously, it was impossible to get there - there are turnstiles, like in the subway. We waited for more than an hour, sitting in the castle, in a special room. No service, only small toilets. I had to forget about coffee.

The castle was built by the king of Bavaria, Ludwig ll. Passionate admirer of Wagner's music.

There is a version that the castle was built in his honor. The name reflects one of Wagner's characters, and many of the rooms are inspired by his writings.

The king himself, did not sleep a single night in this castle, until his assassination. Although you can see his bed.

By the way, the king's death has not yet been revealed.

The construction of the castle began in 1869 and has not been completed to this day. Incredible!

The dreamlike look of the castle inspired Walt Disney to create the Magic Kingdom. So, an incredible dream of one person gave rise to a whole chain of events.

The most photographed castle in the world!

A wonderful view of the castle opens from the Marienbrü cke bridge! It is located above the castle and makes excellent photos from there.

The castle gives out headphones and a special player. The guide tells you when to turn it on and off.

Photographs are not allowed inside.

Of course, I took a dozen photos! For memory.

In the castle cafe, it's worth eating! Delicious soup, coffee and strudel.

Not far from Neuschwanstein, there is another castle - Hohenschwangau.

It is very interesting that it was bought by the future king of Bavaria, Maximilian ll, father of Ludwig ll.

In this castle, the future king of Bavaria, Ludwig ll, spent his childhood.

He used this castle as his summer residence until his death in 1886. (Why was it necessary to build Neuschwanstein? ).

But visiting both castles on the same day is hard!

Unless, prepare for it thoroughly. And that is in the summer!

Down in the village, we bought sausages and beer. They ate standing, looking at the great creation of the human mind and hands. Being in Bavaria and not eating sausages with beer? Why go there then? Kidding!

It was pretty chilly and the hot dogs went with a bang.

I don't know if I would like to live in such a beautiful castle! I like the house, by the ocean, under the palm trees.

Where the birds of paradise sing. Maybe somewhere in Costa Rico or Maui. . .

We still managed to travel to several amazing places. See beautiful buildings. The whole of Bavaria is a fairy tale. It is not for nothing that the “fairytale king” Ludwig ll was born here... And the famous German storytellers, the Grimm brothers, died ten years before the construction of the castle began. Otherwise, they would have written a fairy tale about a brave knight, a dragon and a princess, in the tower. . . of Neuschwanstein Castle.

There is a Neuschwanstein poster hanging on the wall in my room. It comes to life when the rays of the sun, in the morning, touch its edges....Looking at it, the mood rises, wonderful memories emerge in the brain.

See you, Bavaria!
