Extraordinary Berlin!
I want to share my live experiences!
We planned a trip to Barcelona, flew through Berlin.
Arrival in Berlin at 7:25 am at Tegel Airport, the next flight at 19:05, almost 12 hours of free time!
We decided in advance not to sit at the airport, it is very small and most importantly located within the city.
We decided to see the city. We chose a guide via the Internet, Lydia Mayer, we chose it partially based on reviews and photos. We agreed with her that she would meet us at the airport and from there she would give us a 4-hour tour of Berlin, and then we would take a walk and return by taxi to the airport.
Everything went as agreed, Lida met us at the arrivals area. A pleasant, open girl, met us with a smile and in a good mood. First impressions were good.
From the airport, we took the TXL bus to the railway station, the main station of Berlin, and from there we went on foot to the Reichstag. During the tour, I was struck by how Lida easily told us about Berlin, people, buildings that we saw. There were many questions about the life of the Germans, their mentality, attitude towards the Russians, about the attitude towards the war. We received answers to all questions. We liked Potsdamer Platz, it's Something! The architecture is impressive. Super modern, lots of glass and light. Surprised by unusual architectural solutions.
The brewery, located here under the dome of the Sony Center, made no less pleasant impression. How pleasant it was to enjoy a mug of cold, lively, thick beer, sitting under the dome in the fresh air in the 25 degree heat! And most importantly, we were in no hurry and had the opportunity to enjoy it to our heart's content.
I was amazed that the city has a lot of greenery, trees, and especially a lot of green lawns on which people sunbathe, sit, eat, read something and just go crazy. We liked Berlin and I can say with confidence that this is Lida's great merit. The atmosphere that reigned during the walk is..... not enough words, an aura of mutual understanding, high spirits, a state of euphoria!
From communication with Lydia, from how she showed us Berlin, we got the feeling that we left a piece of ourselves in it. And we wish Lida prosperity, success for her company and that she continues to give happy moments to her guests!
