In the middle of December 2010 we were in Dü sseldorf. We stayed at the Diana Hotel on Janstrasse 31. Comfort, food and service were average. But what happened at the end of our stay in this "hospitable" hotel is beyond all the decencies of a civilized society...
For two days we left for France in Paris. We asked the staff, and in particular the manager Shvetlana and an old German (I don’t remember his name, but he looked very much like the former “fat” chancellor) to leave our things for storage, because. we had to return and spend 2 more days with them. To this request, with the consent of the hostess of the hotel, Frau Lydia, they graciously agreed. At the same time, Frau Lydia personally guaranteed us the safety of our property! All valuables (Russian passports, papers, car keys and documents, as well as some money), so as not to take with us on a trip, we convincingly and repeatedly asked to leave in a safe. The staff understood us and showed us the safe where everything will be stored…
Returning to Dü sseldorf, we were given a bag with all valuables not from the safe, but from the “top shelf” of the staff room closet. At the same time, we found, or rather did not find, 1000 euros in the wallet. Everything else (including Russian rubles, credit cards, keys) was untouched. I had to call the police and testify. The owner of this establishment, Lydia, fell into hysterics, screaming, cursing us, believing that we had deliberately set up this situation. The madhouse lasted half a day, the mood was fouled, plans were crumpled. There was enough money left for the trip home. I had to save on everything because of these freaks.
Frau Lydie's advice - better deal with your staff, or the rats that work for you, and be more polite with customers, we have a conscience and decency, unlike you.
In the evening of that day, we had to pack up and leave this hotel, this city and this country with a very bitter sediment...

I visited this hotel in June and I want to say that the hotel is not bad. For 45 euros I got a double room with a toilet and a shower in the room (there were no other singles). The room is clean, nothing to complain about, 3 towels, bathrobe, slippers, hair dryer, all rank by rank. The room has a TV (1 channel even Russian), a safe, lockers, a fan on the chandelier.

The hotel has free wireless Internet, but after half an hour it drops out for some reason, the signal is weak or something else, in general, it’s enough to check the mail or look at the train schedule. I didn’t see the hostess personally, but the attendants were quite friendly, politely explained how best and how to get to the “Old City” or “LTU Arena”, even after I was 1 hour late for breakfast, they personally made me a cup of coffee and a couplesandwiches. The only downside is there is no lift. In general, I was satisfied, there are no complaints.

They cheated me for 150 euros and also yelled, saying that they had done a favor by settling in their hotel. Calculate everything carefully in advance. The hostess Lydia is proto rude, but this is only if you do not like something in her hotel.

The hotel is located in the city center, parallel to one block of the main shopping street of the city of Konigsallee, to the station on foot 15 minutes walk, to the airport 13 minutes by taxi - 18 euros - the taxi order is kindly done at the hotel for free.
