Noisy terribly, even at minimum power, but the air cooled normally. I had to leave it on during the day, and turn it off at night - it was impossible to sleep with such noise. In principle, this was not a problem either, since the nights there are not so hot, and there was enough for the night.
But most of all spoiled the impression of the rest of the bugs! At first I did not notice, then I thought the bugs were some kind of random. Only on the last day it dawned on me that these were natural bugs! There was no point in changing the number, we were leaving. The attendant at the counter said "Bull shit! ". I hope this is not a hotel issue. Perhaps someone who lived before me brought it. I guess I'm just unlucky. But for some reason I was not surprised, given the old age of the rooms.

There is still a little space to the reef, but if you swim behind the rope, the whistle of the employee on the beach is immediately heard. I would not call the water crystal clear, there is nothing to see underwater. You can leave the hotel to the right or left, there will be no whistle and rope (as well as sunbeds under palm trees - all beaches are public and open), but otherwise the picture is about the same.
It's good that we are not exactly "beach" vacationers. Free time from trips was spent more in hotel bars and restaurants.
Other than that, there's probably nothing to complain about. Anex Tour worked clearly and responsibly, Azur Air's delays were within reason. The hotel area is large and green, the hotel staff is helpful. Meals - a good buffet, varied.
There are also 3 restaurants where dinner is by appointment (included in the tour), but they somehow did not impress us. Pour without restrictions and around the clock. Billiards (naturally broken-down), disco at night. The animation seemed almost non-existent to me, even though I'm not a fan.

But upon arrival, I realized that my fears were in vain, since the depth of the sea is sufficient for an adult who wants to swim, but not 10 meters deep, but still very comfortable. The water temperature is 29 degrees. The color of the water depends on which direction the sun is shining from. Beach photo lovers need to take photos from 12 to 14 days, because during this period the sun is very strong and bright and all the colors of nature are also very juicy and bright. I didn't leave the water for hours.
Be sure to walk along the beach strip. If you go to the left along the coast, about 15 minutes walk, you will see a gorgeous beach (there is still a restaurant or a house on the water, something like that), there is very beautiful water and palm trees.
Saona is a place worth visiting. Everything is luxurious. The only thing for some reason no one says is that it takes about 1.5-2 hours to get there on a sailing yacht and this is not just a transfer, it is a luxurious journey by sea, which gives no less wonderful sensations than Saona Island itself.

The beach, in my opinion, is excellent, as there are always enough sunbeds for everyone, if you want to relax in the sun, if you want under a palm tree. The sea is not stormy thanks to the strip of coral reefs that protects from waves. Before I went, I read reviews that the sea is shallow, you won’t be able to swim everywhere algae. But upon arrival, I realized that my fears were in vain, since the depth of the sea is sufficient for an adult who wants to swim, but not 10 meters deep, but still very comfortable. The water temperature is 29 degrees. The color of the water depends on which direction the sun is shining from. Beach photo lovers need to take photos from 12 to 14 days, because during this period the sun is very strong and bright and all the colors of nature are also very juicy and bright. I didn't leave the water for hours.
Be sure to walk along the beach strip. If you go to the left along the coast, about 15 minutes walk, you will see a gorgeous beach (there is still a restaurant or a house on the water, something like that), there is very beautiful water and palm trees.
Saona is a place worth visiting. Everything is luxurious. The only thing for some reason no one says is that it takes about 1.5-2 hours to get there on a sailing yacht and this is not just a transfer, it is a luxurious journey by sea, which gives no less wonderful sensations than Saona Island itself.

From the side of the corridor there is a beautiful view of the sea. In general, I would return there, but to the room and building overlooking the sea (you have to pay extra 5-6 thousand) So the trip cost us 144 thousand for two with flights and meals all inclusive for 10 nights direct flight from St. Petersburg.

The hotel staff are very friendly and nice. The rooms are a bit old and the first impression is not very good, but then we got used to it. There were no plumbing issues. In general, everyone was satisfied, towels were changed every day, they responded to all requests immediately. They cook excellently, fruits are plentiful and there was enough for everyone. Always varied, the hotel has 3 restaurants, be sure to visit them. Also leaving the hotel to the right after 200 meters there is a cafe shop where you can eat lobster, shrimp and more. Seafood is fresh. They cook very well. The average check is $25-30. In the same store they bought mamajuana, magnets, coffee, cocoa, butter and much more.

The hotel itself is still presented by the operator as 4 stars, although as we found out in the hotel itself, this has long been a troika, and not a Hilton for a long time. It's noticeable, by the way.
The hotel consists of several buildings, quite modest and in some places simply shabby. The fact that the hotel is old is not particularly striking, but it is obvious. Modest reception and everything is quite ascetic. Compared to Egypt, such a spartan atmosphere is even a little surprising%) The room has everything that is indicated: a coffee maker and an iron, a bathroom with a shower. Fan, air conditioning works, huge balcony. True, we settled on the second attempt, in the first room (on the second floor, which is no coincidence! ) The shower did not work. As a result, we were settled on the 4th floor in the next building in a standard room with huge beds (J), but without a remote control)) The remote control had to be taken to the reception, but since we are not Dominicans, we cannot ask 7 times (it’s completely normal for them - they will definitely do it, but not now - manyana)) - tomorrow), then they lived without it.
More about numbers. I don’t know about the rest, we had an adjacent room - a door from the room led to the next room. Hearing is amazing. On the first night, we thought we would go crazy from the ora behind the wall, then we became more cunning - they came later, when the neighbors already had silence; )
The territory is rather big, very green, very beautiful. It continues outside the hotel, as you leave the reception - there are a tennis court, a golf course, a casino.
Two pools, small, shallow. Diving is completely impossible, and, as a rule, those 10 sun loungers that are near the pool are always occupied.
On the sea - raaaay. Palm trees instead of beach umbrellas! You lie like that, bask in the burning sun and fresh breeze and just relax. The sea is amazing. The beach from the sea is "covered" by an artificial structure - a stone embankment. That is, there were never big waves. It never rained! Temperature - every day +30. And we flew in the last week of January 2011. The Caribbean is a paradise : )
Since the hotel is located apart, the beach is deserted, you can walk even to the right, even to the left. Nobody around. In the distance, however, some buildings are already beginning : )
There are 3 restaurants on site (or 4%), we were only in the main Amber. The food was good, but that's all. I can't say that it's very good. There was everything from meat, fruits, vegetables, ice cream, table wine for dinner. Delicious, nothing to do with the same Egyptian wine. Moreover, the waiters themselves bring drinks, you don’t need to run around looking for them. What is relaxing. . .
Animation is awesome. During the day, everything was on the beach that was supposed to be: aerobics, gymnastics, dancing, competitions... And in the evening a miracle began . . How great they dance! The animation team itself is a dance group. They danced on stage almost every night and it was just mesmerizing!
The hotel has a disco where modern music sounds along with merengue and bachata. Disco until three in the morning, all drinks included. By the way, the hotel includes local alcoholic drinks and international cocktails - for fans there are plenty to choose from : )
In summary, I give the hotel a solid four. The hotel is really worth the money. I could recommend it to lovers of a relaxing holiday, or those who want to take a break from their compatriots ; -P There are actually few Russian tourists in this hotel. And in Russian, by the way, no one speaks in the hotel... And even those who go to the Dominican Republic, like us, for the first time, will not regret it!
