My husband and I rested in a truly heavenly country - the Dominican Republic. From September 07 to September 21.2014 at the Barcelo Bavaro palace deluxe hotel. Junior suite in room. I really liked the hotel, a huge green area, many restaurants, varied food, we liked the Steak House the most. Well, it was very tasty. I remember and salivate! A cheerful train runs around the territory, so we almost didn’t walk on it, we studied everything from the train. In our room there was a jacuzzi on the balcony, which was very unexpected and pleasant, and the view from the balcony is of course the ocean. This is real paradise.
Before traveling to the Dominican Republic, I searched a lot for information about the country, what excursions are available, how much they cost, where it is best to go and what to see, I read a lot of reviews about the hotel, in general, I thought that I had come armed to the ears, but it turned out not, we did not know much. Therefore, I want to pay special attention to excursions in the Dominican Republic. We had the opportunity to compare excursions from the tour operator, so to speak, mass and individual. In our opinion, mass excursions have disadvantages, namely, this is a large crowd of people, you have to constantly wait for someone, and in general excursions take place at a fast pace with limited time and opportunities to stop or go somewhere. The routes are hackneyed, many excursion groups come to the same places, to the same palm trees. We went to Samana from our tour operator, but the nature is beautiful, but it was raining, so a little impression is not the same, of course. Much more was expected.
We took an individual excursion to the island of Saona from Alexander the Caribbean, it is also called islaconmigo. It can be found on the Internet. On the Internet, we contacted our compatriot from Russia Sasha. The tour turned out to be exciting, fruitful and fun. In addition to the most visited places by tourists, Sasha brought us to a beach where not a single mass excursion stops. At least we didn’t see a single tourist there during our entire stay on the beach. At our request, we stopped anywhere, swam several times in different places, collected shells, landed on completely wild beaches, though there were midges on some, but coconut oil helped us, Sasha photographed us, filmed under water with a camera, my husband even climbed on a palm tree for coconuts, it was fun of course. A special impression was made by a stop in the Caribbean Sea, where it is shallow and where starfish live. They turned out to be heavy and with suction cups, you can’t keep them without water for more than 5 seconds - they die! You will not see such charms lying at the bottom under your feet anywhere else! We had a photo shoot with delicious champagne, found 2 large shells and took them home, so to speak, as a keepsake! We arrived at Saona for a long time, we were in no hurry, and at that time as many as 5 catamarans were replaced! I specifically counted. In general, we explored the entire coast, admired those heavenly places, saw sea urchins, collected shells of various shapes and took that white sand as a keepsake, and suddenly we will return. On the way back snorkeling! Spectacle! A real exotic aquarium! Yes, of course, it is impossible to describe all the places, it was probably the best day in the Dominican Republic, very eventful and unforgettable. Therefore, I recommend Alexander the Caribbean! The rest of the time we arrived at the hotel, rested on sunbeds and recuperated. The flight back took a bit longer than to the Dominican Republic. I hope my review will help someone, because I myself read a lot of them before the trip, of course they are all different, in taste and color, as they say, but still.
