Upon arrival, they quickly went through customs and border guards - no one reads migration cards, so don't worry, write whatever you want. They put us in the minibuses quickly, the luggage went behind us in such a funny cart. By the way, luggage at the airport is immediately grabbed by porters, dragged to the bus, if you don’t want to pay, drag it yourself. Upon arrival at the hotel - about 15 hours local time - placed in the room right there. As for the room - we liked everything - large and bright, with a direct view of the ocean (the so-called Premium Club room type). These are the most expensive rooms in the hotel, but they offered it to us at the travel agency literally for a meager surcharge. In addition to a direct view of the ocean, its dignity is also in a separate reception, where you are literally carried in your arms - coffee, cakes, late check-out, free porter service, etc. , free WiFi (ask at the reception), and unhindered passage to everything literally places at the hotel, daily 45 minutes of SPA, for lovers of elite drinks - a sort of special bar, where you will be taken by a bar waiter in the lobby of Bavaro Palace, and you can have breakfast not only in buffets, but also in the French a la carte restaurant Chez Palace. So, about the number. There is everything that a person needs for a comfortable stay - a huge bed with a bunch of different-sized pillows, an electronic clock with
music and alarm clock, living area with sofa and armchairs, work area, TV, safe, minibar (almost never used, only water), coffee maker. There is a jacuzzi on the balcony, but the jets are weak, they lay down a couple of times - it didn’t pinch. Plenty of space for things, two showers, two sinks, lots of bathroom bells and whistles. We did not have any dampness and mosquitoes. The weather was fine, sometimes cloudy, but that didn't bother us at all.
A little about nutrition. You can talk endlessly, but I will only say that only an aesthetic gourmet or, excuse me, a show-off redneck can criticize the cuisine. No one was hungry, there were shrimp and lobsters for lovers, meat and fish are cooked in front of you, everything is fresh, juices are also squeezed out in front of you, any pasta of your choice is prepared well. Buffet restaurants - only on the beach and in the deluxe building three, always free, the waiters are happy to serve. I counted 7 a=la carte restaurants, maybe. and more. I won’t write much about food, we ate with pleasure. Yes, for amateurs - for breakfast = dry champagne and bloody mary*, WHICH FOR SOME WHICH Americans LOVE IN THE MORNINGS.

The beaches are great!! ! Creamy cool sand, weak waves, warm breeze. All kinds of canoes, catamarans, surfs - for free. Didn't see any life in the ocean. Algae almost too. The beaches are being cleaned. Lots of empty beds. The beach generally stretches for three kilometers.
Swimming pools are really something! Excellent depth, no smell of bleach, all sorts of bells and whistles for a back massage, sunbathing right in the pool, fountains, jacuzzi. For those who wish - free training in scuba diving. Animation wow, cool - yoga, water aerobics, Latin dances. It's all by the pool to the left of the deluxe reception when facing the ocean. There are also two bars = dry and wet, and you are welcome in both. Two great kids pools.
In general, the bars in the hotel - this is a special conversation. My husband and I are not such lovers of alcohol, but it is impossible to refuse tasting cocktails. I especially liked the lemon daiquiri and caribbean bavaro. My husband preferred *stinger* and *black russian* in the evenings, as well as, of course, mama juana (see on the internet). They are cooked everywhere - but it seemed to me the tastiest in the palace lobby and in the bar next to the Marimar buffet by the pool bridge .
In fact, there are 5 hotels on the territory of Bavaro Barcelo - two * four * and three * 5 *. Fours - Barcelo Casino and Barcelo Golf also have their own charm - a theater, flamingos, a pond with all living creatures, beautiful nature. It takes 3-5 minutes to the ocean on a train that circles all the hotels.
Excursions - everything will be offered by the guide. We only went to swim with the dolphins, we liked it. I think that all excursions are too expensive. In Cuba, the same swimming with dolphins cost 70 dollars, and here - 300. We went to Santo Domingo (the capital), but without an excursion, our Russian friends work there under a contract, they drove. I didn’t like the city, it’s dirty and poor, and merchants and other citizens get it in the old city. The road there = three hours (this is by jeep).

From the end of November, the whole hotel is preparing for Christmas (Dominicans - Catholics). In the evening, the hotel literally glows - palm trees, fountains, Christmas trees (artificial) 10 meters each - all this shines and shimmers, a cool sight!
The staff is normal. They all try to help, no rudeness, smiles, cordiality. Tipping was left not only in the room, but also at dinner, in bars, if you liked the service.
In general, the hotel is excellent! But let the advice of an experienced tourist - remember, they are not required to know Russian. As in any other country, try not to be lazy - learn at least ten words in Spanish, and having an average English - you will be understood or will do everything to understand.
