Firstly, I’ll say right away that I really, really liked the Dominican Republic! The sea, the sand is just super, but the small beach and palm roots are so-so : )
The hotel at first glance (after a night flight : )) seems terrible and shabby. at the reception are languid employees who barely understand English. Got the key and went to the room. I don’t remember the number of the room and the block, but we lived a little on the edge, not far from the second small pool.
The food is varied (but according to many reviews it is divine), I did not find a single dish more or less divine : ) the food is just normal. In the main restaurant, calling the waiter or waiting for drinks (sitting outside) is simply impossible. We went to the second restaurant, not far from the small pool. There were always few people and many waiters. Just before our departure, for some reason, it was closed, without explanation.

The rooms are certainly not so hot, but you can live. Given that this is one of the most inexpensive all-in hotels, everything is clear. Our regular room cost $130 per night. I think that next time you need to go to a more expensive hotel. And the beach there should be bigger and better.
So, it's dark in the room, the air conditioner works very hard (they turned it off at night), it's pretty noisy when there are some events at the main pool. We had 2 beds (queen), but we slept together on one : ) they cleaned well when they put a coupon for a change of bed - they changed the bed. Towels were delivered late a couple of times. Sometimes they decorated the bath with petals. Our toilets are constantly leaking. We went to the reception twice, they sent a plumber, but still, after a couple of hours, he again flowed. there was always a puddle under it. In principle, I don’t care, but I was afraid that the pipe would burst.
We went to the airport and from the airport by taxi (caught at the airport once, and then we were called from the hotel at the reception) for 35 bucks one way. Bought cigars at some hotel sale. It turned out just like they cost in duty free.
Vacationers are mostly Canadians, Americans, Russians. French, Germans and locals (especially on weekends there are a lot of them), well, people from South America. Many Americans fly from Miami for the weekend (but why? Miami is cool too : ) )
The sun, sea and palm trees brighten up all the inconveniences and long flights. I really liked it. I will definitely return to the Dominican Republic, to the Caribbean, but to a different hotel. Better pay more for the ticket.
