So our next vacation has ended, it’s winter outside, New Year’s Eve and I can’t even believe that just a couple of weeks ago we were basking in the sun, swimming in the ocean, walking in summer clothes, etc. !
Flight by Transaero, I can’t say anything bad, the plane is quite even! Boeing 777, there 11.40 return flight takes 10.30, no food on the way back, of course, but that's not the main thing!
Upon arrival, I was met by a representative of the tour operator Coral Travel, after about 40 minutes we were already in the hotel room. When choosing a hotel, we had the main desire that everything be within reach, no trains around the territory, the beach is nearby. About the hotel: the smallest and most compact hotel in all of Punta Cana, the territory is not large, only 5 buildings, the 5th building is located almost on the ocean, if you want to stay in this building and overlook the sea, then of course there are free rooms you will have to pay only 120 or 140 dollars, I don’t remember the exact amount. The rooms are spacious, made in colonial style, modest, towels are always available, changed every day, safe 2 dollars a day. The beach deserves special attention. there is a coral reef that breaks the wave, and the waves are not so strong near the shore, so you can always swim. The food is excellent, the menu is of course repeated, but partially, we went to an Italian restaurant, we don’t need to reserve it, we weren’t thrilled, I had to go to eat in a regular one, well, you can go once. It is better to take coffee in the Lobby bar, since the one served in the restaurant is not clear by what method it is prepared, after which it is poured into jugs and this jug is put on your table, it does not taste like coffee but a coffee drink, so after breakfast we always went to drink coffee in lobby.

The staff at the hotel is friendly, the attitude towards Russians is excellent, they try to greet us in Russian, they asked us how this or that expression would be in Russian or how the question sounds, they write it down on napkins, memorize it, which is very nice !! ! Animation liked, though we went only to the evening!
About excursions: excursions were taken from the tour operator Coral Travel, although the prices are approximately the same for all tour operators and the content is the same. We went to Santo Domingo for $ 85, I read reviews before the trip, for some reason they were negative about the trip to the capital, but it seemed to us that this was the only opportunity to learn something about the country and indeed this is so, the guide Irina tells so exciting and interesting, but as for shops, in Santo Domingo, an hour is given to visit the shops, the prices, it seemed to me, are higher than they are brought to La Romana on the way back, but in Santo Domingo you can bargain, and in the market in La Romana prices are fixed. The second excursion was a Caribbean adventure $195. for one person, they load everyone first on a catamaran, then in the morning they load rum with rum, which, in principle, no one refuses, then they take it along the Caribbean Sea to the mangroves, then they bring it to a place where there are a lot of starfish, again rum, then lunch and again rum, and so the whole day, they don’t land on land, all this time you are on the ship, at that time it was also raining, they didn’t have time to wipe the floor on the catamaran, several people just fell out of the blue because of the slippery floor, fortunately no one didn't break anything! About the weather: we were unlucky with the weather, the first week if the sun peeped out in the morning, then the second week there was no sun at all and it rained not for 10 minutes as we were told, but all day, which is unusual for the Dominican Republic according to the locals.
But in general, the vacation was a success, so relaxing that 2 weeks have already passed and Dominican laziness still lives in me, because people there are lazy, if you go to Santo Domingo, the guide will tell you about it. Yes, and I also wanted to write, since there is nowhere to go outside the hotel, then we walked along the coast, you can combine business with pleasure, if you walk along the coast to the Carabella Hotel (about 1.5 -2 km) when you see 5 wooden idols, there there will be a shop with rather pleasant prices for rum, cigars and Russian girls - sellers, for example Rum Imperial, where guides will tell you that the lowest price for it is $ 20, so in this store it costs 18, there are also others rum varieties, with the exception of Bermudez rum, we found it only in the shops of the capital.
It seems that everything I wanted to write is very often comparing the Dominican Republic with Cuba, although these are completely different countries, and my friends ask me where did you like it best and where would you go a second, third time ?? ? Personally, I liked the rest more in Cuba!

I sincerely wish you all successful and exciting travels, and Happy New Year to everyone!
