Wedding in the Dominican Republic!

It took a long time to decide where to fly, from the proposed exotic countries, resorts: Seychelles, Maldives, Mauritius, Bali, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Cuba, Goa, we chose the Dominican Republic, because. quality of service, services offered at the highest level! Nature is great, lots of excursions! The food is varied: from lobsters, shrimps, mussels to beef, pork... There are sooo many fruits, we still don’t know the names of some !! ! In addition, not many resorts can offer the All inclusive type of food.

We agreed on the wedding ceremony in advance, having signed in Ukraine, we took a marriage certificate with a translation into English with us! Arriving in Punta Cana, at the hotel reception we were greeted with champagne and fruit! The room was tied with a "Honeymooners" ribbon, beautifully decorated, champagne and fruit were chilled on the table! A few days later, the details of the wedding were discussed: what would be the wedding arch, the bride’s bouquet, the groom’s boutonniere, the cake, the music accompanying the ceremony, the place of the ceremony, the romantic dinner… The ceremony went perfectly, as expected, there was a video and photos from a wonderful photographer from Chile, Riccardo (1 photo $10)! It all lasted about 2 hours. After a romantic dinner, returning to the room, everything from the elevator to the room was strewn with flowers! Everything in the room is decorated with flowers (even in the toilet - a rose)! I recommend to everyone to arrange such a romantic holiday for two, and not to entertain guests at a wedding!

Oh Dominican Republic!

1. I recommend taking a flight with the least number of connections! (Direct flight does not cost more, but you will lose less time and effort!!!! ) If you managed to take a flight with transfers, then the connection should be at least 4-6 hours!! ! At airports such as Charles de Gaulle (Paris), it takes 40 minutes to travel by bus from terminal to terminal, get off the Boeing 777 for about an hour, go through customs for about 40 minutes, you need to be at check-in for the plane 2 hours in advance!

2. You need to choose a hotel only 5 *, otherwise you won’t get what the Dominican Republic can give, your mood will deteriorate! (We talked with tourists on excursions).

3. Approximate price:

- Rum: Barcelo Imperial 0.75ml - $20, Brugal $16.

- Cigars: it is better to buy at factories, specials. stores, from $4 to $35 and more per piece, on average, a normal cigar aged 7 years is $4.

- Vanilla: 6$ - 250ml

- Cocoa: 8 $ pack. (1 kg)

- Coffee: 8-10$ pack. (1 kg)

- Souvenirs: magnets from $2 to $4, figurines $5, beads $8

Beaded jewelry, talismans give out for free!

Guides deliver to shops where everything is more expensive by $ 2-3.

In the markets, you can bargain, drop the price by 30-50%.

4. Excursions. I advise you to visit the island of Saona, sail on a catamaran, all inclusive with lobster, champagne, rum, whiskey... To the music with dancing!

A safari jeep is an exciting driving trip around the Dominican Republic, with a visit to a cane plantation, bungee rides in the mountains, a visit to a cigar factory, a drive into the jungle where bananas, coffee, cocoa grow... And also swimming on a beach without reefs with huge waves - Macau!

5. The time difference with Ukraine is 6 hours, it took up to 5 days to adapt, it is better to take a rest for at least 14 days.

6. We were in a period when there was cholera in Haiti, but everything was calm in the hotel, hand disinfection is carried out all year round!! !
