We are from Moscow. I am 34, my husband is 38. On vacation we like to sunbathe, swim, play sports and not very games, dance, have fun, go on excursions, explore interesting places on our own, attend all kinds of wellness treatments, drink and eat deliciously, sleep sweetly. We love to travel to new places, no matter how much we didn’t like the previous ones, because the world is so big. Fortunately, they pay for travel at work. They wanted to go to Mexico - they didn't have enough money, so they decided to go to the Dominican Republic. We bought a tour at the Windrose on Kurskaya, as the girl Anaida, after a long and persistent search, found a tour for 15 days at the Grand Bahia Principe Ambar, along with a flight for 165 thousand for two (other agencies offered from 180 thousand for it ). We traveled together. The Dominican Republic is rather a beach pensioner's vegetable vacation. Those who like to drink - you can sleep - having nothing to do. There are excursions, but their choice is not large and are expensive (an average of $ 200 per person). There is nothing outside the hotel except the road and thickets. We tried to reach the local civilization on foot, after an hour the roads turned back. We did not rent a car, because the locals are not friendly with the rules of the road, and if something happens - "your problems" and huge unforeseen expenses. Grand Bahia Principe combines about 5 hotels (Ambar and Esmeralda are considered the coolest of them, closest to the ocean). Each vacationer wears a bracelet issued upon arrival at the hotel. For Ambar guests, it is gray. And yet, only adults without children rest in Ambar. We were promised that Ambar and Esmeralda guests can move freely throughout the territory, swim in all pools. However, when in the evening we (sober! ) went to a disco in Esmeralda, the guards politely asked us to go to their territory. The pools close at 6 pm (! And everyone has a vigilant guard so that no one swims. We took fishing from excursions, rode a local attraction - a mini cable car, were on the best caribe (where it rained all day). In autumn, water near the ocean here it is heavily littered with algae, swimming is not pleasant, they rot and although they are periodically removed, the smell is appropriate. On the territory of the Grand Bahia Principe, road trains run along 4 lines (as at VDNKh), on one line there are 10 stops. On the territory: tennis, mini-golf, theater (it closes early in the evening, people there watch clips without sound on the big screen, and Latino plays from the speakers in the hall)), there is a very paid spa). The rooms are good, the loggia is awesome (we sat on it for almost the entire second week of rest with rum and cigars, since we already wanted to go home). The food is not very good for Russian taste. Restaurants a la carte in the hotel are called differently, but the food and drinks are the same)). As for music: Latin is everywhere and everywhere (do not expect variety). The hotel is normal, but there is not much to do in it, especially outside it. If your goal on vacation is to be full and tanned - you are in the Dominican Republic. We were bored (I liked it more in neighboring Cuba).
