Regarding shopping, be sure to take free buses to the local hypermarket (there prices are in pesos, but the dollar is accepted in some places), on the beach, if you go to the right, there is Ol's shop. Large selection of inexpensive souvenirs, alcohol, sim cards and cosmetics. The hotel mainly tourists from America (USA, Canada, Latin America). You can also practice English with them, unfortunately, in the hotel, except for the reception, no one speaks English. Twice we went on excursions, took an excursion to Saona and 27 waterfalls. I advise you to search on the Internet, in the hotel the same excursions will be much more expensive, and do not listen to hotel guides when they ask you to turn off the location on your phone, as they are trying to fight cheaper competitors.
