"On the advice of friends" was considered only 5 stars. As a result, I think the advice is right - a lower level will not justify the hardships of the flight. We saw an opportunity to live on a small island, got interested, looked at photos / reviews, and settled on Luxury Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado.

Levantado Island is an attraction in itself and a place to visit excursions ("Pirate Island, Bacardi Beach" - according to advertisements from local travel agencies). A third of the island is a public area with a beach, the rest is only for hotel guests.

I try to avoid cliches and exaggerations, but I have to admit that "Paradise (Island)" is a perfectly adequate description of Levantado Island, especially if you live on it!!!
The hotel is located as if on the territory of a botanical garden (I'm only from Singapore botanical gardens, if sho)))), elevation changes (the residential area is located on a hill) add to the picturesqueness. Everything is fantastically beautiful and diverse. In a small area there are also sandy beaches with (almost) white sand, palm and mangrove groves, just a tropical (almost) forest, cliffs and islets. The purest water, the ability to swim for a long time and the absence of barriers (buoys) on the public beach (hereinafter referred to as "our beach").

I will write about what we did / what we used.

We got up very early and met the dawn (about 07:00) on the shore (in different places). Then we had breakfast and immediately (things were already taken with us) went to the beach. We liked the public beach more, we mostly went to it. The first 30-60 minutes were completely alone on the beach, then a few hotel guests began to appear.
By 10:20 (at that time the first boats with sightseers arrived) there were no more than 20 people. From 15:00 to 16:00 sightseers massively left "our" beach.

From 11-12 to 16 we had a siesta/lunch. We did not try to joke with the midday tropical sun. Once stuck up to 13 and immediately slightly burnt. Yes, they used sunscreen 50+, the first days on the whole body, until the end - on the face, shoulders, neck.

From 16 to sunset (18) we were again on the beach, in the end we were usually alone again. It was very cool!

A pianist plays in the lobby from 18:30 to 20:30. Very atmospheric, good and sincere.

At 20:30-21:00 some show starts. At 23:00 - disco. The show was caught in fragments a couple of times, they didn’t go to discos. The time difference makes itself felt. My wife is actually an owl, but she was already switched off at 22:00.

They liked the cocktails, on average they drank three a day. I'm no expert, but I've tried before. My level is good.

Buildings and interiors are everywhere designed in the "colonial style".
Everything is solid, beautiful (without bullkoko and pshonka-style, no gilding) and stylish. In combination with the fact that the servants are completely swarthy or dark-skinned, at times you feel like some kind of latifundist planter)))).

I already wrote about the nature and location, for them - 20 on a 10-point scale !!!!!

Service at a good level. We used hotel transport, only in the heat after the beach to go up to the room, for a good hill.
There was a comical fight against the turndown service. Pulling the sheets out from under the mattress and pulling the huge pillows off the bed again twice a day made us strain. Saved by a "do not disturb" sign. They forgot to hang it up once - a visit at 21:30, when we were already undressed in bed))). Saved by shouting “Know Need! ".

The room itself is spacious, comfortable with a very large balcony (loggia, terrace).

The bed is huge, comfortable, but creaked under critical load))))). Didn't use the "Pillow/Scent Selection" service.
The pillows seemed comfortable enough.

Nutrition. We have never lived in an all-inclusive hotel of this level, so our impressions are very subjective. In general, I liked it, you definitely won’t leave hungry. Fruits are local, high quality, but seasonal and the choice is small. We ran out of mangoes (((( (out of season). We leaned on pineapples and partly passion fruit and guava. There are enough watermelons and melons at home. Dominican cuisine is not entirely original, similar to Mexican and Spanish. Desserts are weak. Not bad for lovers of pasta and natural freshly fried meat or fish. Delicious cappuccino. Omelettes in the morning "on order" - you form the fillers yourself (mine - onions, tomatoes and cheese, for example). The same is done in the same place with pasta.

Outlets are all American standard. For 3 days I bought an adapter in a hotel store - and there are no problems.

The elevator to the hotel beach is impressive. Although we have only used it a couple of times.
About the non-hotel part of the island in the story - https://www.turpravda.ua/do/blog-463933.html.

"Dominican things" during the settlement did not bypass us either. Was offered a room two levels up for a "chocolate". I agreed, but since I was aware of the joke, I said that I would bring the “chocolate” if I liked the number. At first it seemed normal, then they even wanted to change the number to the right one. As a result, we stayed, thanks to the proximity to the public beach (Villa 26), and were too lazy to move again.

About the levels of the rooms. My research says that "Superior" from "Junior Suite" or "Junior Suite Superior" differs in price minimally, in fact it's hard to say what, on all sites the description of the rooms is shuffled as if on purpose. "Junior Suite Superior" (we lived in it, instead of the paid "Superior") is distinguished by light-colored furniture, 3 square meters. larger area (76 versus 73), the presence of a second sink and an isolated toilet. I didn't find any other differences in the descriptions.

Where is the best place to live? There is no big difference.
There are several unsuccessful villas, it can only be seen on the spot. Study the plan if that.

At the pier, you will be given pre-check-in tags. The first two digits are the villa number. Until you get on the boat to the island. There is time for analysis.
In our, for example, 26, at first everything seemed OK. Then they noticed that when the balcony door was open, noise was heard (from diesel generators). Then we realized that when using the air conditioner, it does not matter - the door is closed. The view from the panoramic windows (2nd floor) was beautiful - landscaping and the sea. The villa itself is 3-storey, 10 rooms per floor. Initially, we were supposed to have Villa 5 - it is higher on the mountain, closer to the hotel beach, "in the forest", from the room, in theory, the view of the sea is gorgeous. So think where is the best place.

About not the most pleasant. At check out, they paid 90 d. for the cracked glass of the balcony door. It seems that they didn’t clap and didn’t throw dishes, the crack arose somehow by itself during a siesta. They didn’t argue, because how can you prove it?
With the departure transfer (traditionally) Pegasus (P .....s) adjusted - sent the bus to another hotel by mistake. We were no longer on the island, where specialists are sitting at the main reception, but on the coastal pier, without the Internet and with a hotel employee at the pre-reception with pre-qualification and generally a dumbass. Until we put pressure on him, the problem was not solved. We left with an hour delay. We managed to catch the plane with a large margin, but already at the tail of the check-in queue and flew for 12 hours on the most uncomfortable seats (not reclining at all). Pegasus - burn in hellfire!!!!!!!!!!

In general, the holiday was super successful, the hotel is generally good, with a great location and nature. Therefore, I put 10 in all sections!

This is not the first holiday in the Dominican Republic, so there is something to compare. I really liked it, the food is excellent, the beach is divine, the water is clean. The hotel is located on an island, a lot of greenery, like in a botanical garden. The beach is full of free space, you can take a nap in the gazebos on pillows. The rooms are clean, mosquitoes and other creatures were not seen. Lots of flowers and fruits. Linen and towels are changed daily. The staff is invisible. in the room safe and internet - free of charge. The coffee is excellent in the room with a coffee maker. In the restaurant coffee - bue. The food in the restaurant is excellent, a lot of fruits (mango, etc. ), vegetables and seafood. I personally liked the lean Dominican chicken. and fish. cakes so-so, ice cream ok. Excellent fish kebabs at the bar. The wine is completely red. A la carte restaurants are a rare r, don't waste your time. The pools are very clean and there are hummingbirds in the hibiscus bushes. There is no animation and dancing, instead of it there was a live piano and singing in Spanish. Good for cocktails. But it's boring. Have seen a lot of wedding ceremonies, which is nice. I liked it - a minivilla on the beach with a jacuzzi on the veranda. Right on the beach. There is wifi on the beach near the pool. You can take a catamaran and catch stars, but you can't take them out of the sea. sometimes the sea brings coconuts and cocoa ashore; ) Minus - the hotel is far from the airport. Three hours drive through local villages plus a boat. The overall impression is generally positive. Nature is just awesome, it is worth going to relax.
