How nice to see on promotional photos of the hotel where I stayed some two weeks ago! I will say right away: the paintings in the hall are different now and we were not in the pool. With the constant coolness prevailing in Quito, somehow it was not up to the pool. And there was not much time - I wanted to see more. In this review, I do not want to talk about the trip, but only describe the hotel and give a photo. For the rest, you are welcome, read the review about Ecuador, which I will write soon. The Dunn Carlton Hotel is very worthy, a real four. Beautiful noble interiors, wonderful beds, attentive staff, impeccable cleaning. The food is delicious. We had booked accommodation with breakfast, but you can pay in advance and half board. If you did not do this when booking, you can pay for dinners when you check in. In total, we lived there for about four days, with breaks. In addition to the capital, we visited Banos and the Amazon in Ecuador, where we booked for 2-3 nights. Dunn Carlton provides a pleasant service: if after leaving for another place of lodging for the night you return to the same hotel, they are ready to keep part of your luggage for storage, they will give you a receipt. This is very convenient, especially when traveling to the Amazon, since you have to fly there, it's a lot of work with luggage, and on the Amazon you are guaranteed only need t-shirts, shorts, repellent and sunscreen. Yes, also a set of light clothes with long sleeves for walking in the jungle. And for walks in Quito, you need completely different clothes, because in the morning it is often +13, and in the afternoon +18. Of course, the hotel has its shortcomings, but they are not significant. Firstly, central air conditioning, which you cannot control. The first night it worked and was pretty cool, then, thank God, it was turned off. Secondly, a very uncomfortable shower (but, in my opinion, this is the case everywhere in Ecuador) - a small curved handle with almost no holes sticks out of the wall very high. The inconveniences are obvious, but I don’t know how a small person or a child will wash. The area around Dunn Carlton is nice, clean, very close to Katerina Park. Again, within walking distance, although quite far, but in a straight line, there is a large shopping center. There are no restaurants in neighboring buildings, we only found a sushi bar, but they are within two hundred meters, you have to spin around. Finally, advice: ask for rooms with separate beds - they will both be double beds, and the room is larger. Go to Ecuador, it's terribly interesting there!
