Now I'm in this "doka" hotel (this year I stayed here three times: ) and I declare with confidence that the most comfortable rooms in the "Economy" are located on the second floor - they are more spacious, better equipped (there is a wardrobe), in the rooms the second floor perfectly catches Wi-Fi. And it’s more convenient to climb here along a wide wooden staircase, and not along a narrow spiral staircase that leads to the third floor (there is no elevator in the hotel). All hotel rooms have their own bathroom with shower, daily cleaning is normal - soap and towels are not forgotten to be changed.
The least comfortable of the rooms "tested" by us was number 312. It is located on the third floor, has three beds (one double and one single bed). It's terribly tight. There were two of us, but even the two of us could hardly pass each other here. Nowhere to put the suitcase, and even more so - to put things.
I shared a double bed with jeans and souvenirs brought from Stockholm - there was nowhere to put them, and my husband slept alone on a single bed. I can’t imagine how a family with a child can accommodate here, because children always have a lot of things, especially in the winter season. We did not count on the Internet in room 312, since we also lived on the third floor in winter, so we were aware of this problem. But here's what we really didn't expect - a rocking toilet : ))). But we only stayed at the 312th for a couple of nights, so we decided to "endure". Moreover, we lived the first part of the trip simply with royal comfort - in a spacious corner room (No. 206) on the second floor, we had not only Wi-Fi and a wardrobe, but also a bedside table and two personal chairs! ! ! : )))

I like "Economy" for its location and value for money. Pure(!
), a cozy hotel with friendly staff, a 15-minute walk from the Town Hall Square of Van Tallinn, a five-minute walk from the "Balti Station" (Balti Jaam) and a 20-minute walk from the ferry terminal "A" (specially spotted). Yes, of course, this is not a Radisson - these are honest two "stars". Therefore, be prepared for the fact that the room does not have a minibar refrigerator, air conditioning, safe and hair dryer.
The view of Old Tallinn from the windows of the hotel rooms can be envied by more "star-bearing" hotels. However, its location near the railway station cannot be called respectable.
To the delight of budget travelers, there are a couple of cheap eateries at the station (did not taste), a supermarket "Rimi" two blocks from the hotel, where we constantly stocked up, a well-known in the whole area "Alco" store (recommended) and a small industrial food market (Balti Jaama Turg).
The latter is popular among Western tourists who are happy to buy dusty Soviet badges and small Estonian raspberries here. The liquor store is located in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, open from ten in the morning. Every day at 9:30 a colorful line of "suffering" people line up at the doors of the store, meekly waiting for the opening.
Breakfast was not included in the price of our room, but it could be purchased for 5 euros / person, which we did on the day of departure. Breakfast was more than modest, you can safely save on it. But the coffee, which is prepared at the reception for one and a half euros, is very good. Even the locals come here for a cup of coffee. Also at the reception there is a cooler with hot and cold water, you can collect boiling water or buy a cup of tea if you don’t have your own tea leaves. They also call an economical taxi from the reception, we drove from the hotel to the bus station for 5 euros (2.50 euros for landing and 0.

55 euros / kilometer), although they circled the city for about 15 minutes (for Tallinn, this is a long time). Traveling by public transport for city guests (Tallinn residents have been traveling for free since 2013) costs 1.60 euros per trip. That is, if we got to the bus station by tram (it runs straight, almost from the hotel door), we would save only 1.80 euros, which is not very critical for people with two heavy suitcases : ).
The contingent at the hotel is international: Estonians, Russians, Finns, Italians, Americans...The receptionists speak a little Russian and English. By the way, the hotel reception promptly responds to e-mails, which is very convenient for receiving confirmation of the reservation, which is required by the Estonian consulate when applying for a visa.
In general, if you want to live on a budget, colorful, but in the center of Tallinn - "Tere Tulemast" in the hotel "Economi": ).

I wish you all pleasant travels and vivid impressions! : )
