We rested with my son from 30.06. to 14.07. 2010. When we arrived, we were a little dumbfounded, everything in this hotel is made of real material, wood, stone, metal, even reception desks can be looked at for days, unusual figures, tables, all with unusual legs, drawers, we were pleased with the absence of plastic chairs and tables, as they love it in Turkey, even on the street all the chairs are made of rattan. We are tourists with a lot of countries behind us, we can say for sure that El Gouna itself was built with love and hotels are made for people. We got a very beautiful huge room, with a dressing room, a large balcony, a huge bathroom, a TV and a refrigerator. One drawback, a huge number of small ants, they were everywhere, on the beds, in the kettle, in my cosmetics, they even gnawed through the package with cookies and chocolate. There are so many of them that in the water in the kettle, they even formed some kind of Egyptian pattern. Very pleased with the food. To be honest, reading reviews about poor food, I was a little surprised. If for dinner there was a choice of three meat dishes, not soy, namely meat, squid, crabs or partridges on the grill - this is bad food, then there are no words. From fruits, every day there were very tasty oranges, my son took 10 pieces for himself, although at home he is indifferent to them, dates. Every other day they gave melons and watermelons, and for breakfast and dinner there was always a mix of fruits, I really liked it, it included chopped apples, peaches, melon, everything was fresh. For a side dish - french fries, rice, pasta was cooked, there was also couscous, potato stew and stewed vegetables, hot dogs and hamburgers were made. For breakfast, an omelet was fried, with various additives, you could ask, with cheese, sausage, and tomatoes, onions, and pancakes were fried. There were no yogurts. There were also boiled eggs, croissants, toasts, scrambled eggs, but we didn’t take the rest, it seems boiled sausage, and sooooo big selection all day long of all kinds of pastries that we didn’t have the strength to try, and with nuts, and with coconut, the result is plus three kilo. As for nutrition, for the first time, my son and I gorged ourselves on meat, poultry and crabs, and this is the true truth! Drinks were also pleasing, not as filthy and diluted as in Turkey, but they taste like our juices in boxes. I can write a lot about the merits. Now the disadvantages. If the staff heard Russian speech, they changed their faces and as if they did not understand or hear anything. In the restaurant, Russians are served last, for wine and drinks they constantly went to the window themselves, because the waiters simply do not notice us until they serve others, this fact, of course, was annoying, because we always tried to be friendly. That is, a clear disgust for tourists from the countries of the former USSR. I don’t know how our people offended them, but I offended them greatly. The housekeeping service is also a drawback. In principle, I didn’t need cleaning, but changing the towels in the shower is simply necessary. The cleaner was waiting for us to come from the beach, take a shower, dry ourselves with wet towels that were lying in a pile on the floor, because otherwise he doesn’t change them, they have such rules, then we go to lunch, we’ll come back, lie down to rest, then, he dropped in to us and offered to get out. As a result, I was looking for his car on the floor and changed the towels myself. Also in the room you have free coffee, tea, sugar, bottles of shampoo and shower gel and soap. We had all this only on the first day, the following days, I either begged him or took it myself along with clean towels, given that I left him a dollar for the first five days, then I didn’t even want to, I didn’t deserve it. In short, I rate the staff at "3-". We went to the beach by boat every day or walked through the villas, 10 minutes at a calm pace. We didn’t swim near the hotel, there were some tubes going out into the sea, water was pouring from somewhere, with foam. On the beach, the attitude of the staff was the same, the Arabs are poured beer, the Russians are poured foam. Once my nerves failed when my son, a 9 year old child, asked for a drink, they said that they were closed, although they close at 5, and it was only 4.30, they did not see that I was standing on the sidelines. I remembered all my vocabulary in English. They were scared, they didn’t expect blondes to be able to yell like that, they quickly poured their son a drink, apologized, and then poured the child a drink, he didn’t even have time to go to the table. And of course, Egyptian men are very annoying, I didn’t manage to go with my husband, we are in Egypt for the first time, and there is only one conclusion, without a man, if you are not looking for adventure, you can’t go, or don’t go outside the hotel, the Egyptians are very intrusive , everyone strives to grope, they are instantly excited, and become like bulls, their eyes are red and smoke comes out of their nose, horror, never gave a reason. Went only with a child, but they do not care. In general, the holiday was a success. We really liked the clear Red Sea and colorful fish. By the way, we bought swimming shoes and masks in Egypt. They give away 5 dollars. Diving, watching corals, the feeling is not transferable. The city is very beautiful. The air is awesome, and we fell in love with the Red Sea.
