Rested at the hotel from 14 to 23 November 2010. I have been to Egypt before and compared to other hotels everything is at a good level. The most important thing, in my opinion, is a decent and unobtrusive staff, without unnecessary visits to the room with questions like: is everything okay? I personally had no complaints, but if someone had problems, then one word at the reception is enough and the topic is closed. There are a lot of foreigners in the hotel, so the level is close to European, as far as it is possible in an Egyptian hotel. The beach is nice, but a bit unkempt. On the part of the administration there is no proper control over the staff, when you come to the beach in the morning - the cleaning is in full swing. The beds and mattresses are kind of poor. But nevertheless, the sun and the sea takes its toll and you don't want to pay attention to such "little things". For lovers of the underwater beauties of the Red Sea, there is nothing interesting, unless you go on a boat trip.
And the town is wonderful! Amazingly clean, green, real Venice. Wherever you look - the eye rejoices. In the evening you can take a walk in Down Town (Old Town), in the Marina to stare at yachts, expensive hotels, go shopping, drink coffee. The Marina often hosts concerts right on the square. In Down Town there are supermarkets and greengrocers where you can buy whatever fruit you want. For some reason, the restaurant was strained with fruit, and the food is good, varied. Again, the staff is friendly. I advise the waiter to tip and sit down "on his zone" - he will lick you.
El Gouna is strikingly different from other resorts in Egypt.
