We always chose hotels in different countries ourselves when traveling, but this time we made a mistake. This is not the first time in Egypt, but from what we saw, we can say that the most unfortunate choice. We relied on old reviews, youtube videos and photos in search engines. Then I realized that a dozen reviews are not at all an indicator of the real picture! When we arrived from the airport to the hotel, we rather wanted to get to the hotel. Once in the lobby, they were depressed - at the entrance there were "leather" sofas with tattered brown upholstery. There are many plants, but they are not well-groomed. At the reception, the staff does not know either Russian or Ukrainian. Only English and German. . . The settlement took place at 10-00 - two hours earlier than stated. We were not immediately settled, although I do not think that there were no free rooms. Initially, we were offered a room with a view of the outside of the hotel. We asked for a view of the pool (fundamentally decided not to pay extra this time) and got half the back of the main restaurant, half a view of the pool. But it faded against the backdrop of the number itself.
The condition of the room reminded me of Soviet boarding houses on the Sea of Azov "ala Metallurg". The furniture is solid, but looks very "tired". Shabby, the veneer fell off somewhere; on pillows (small barracks type) lipstick; curtains, namely, chewed; chairs on the terrace have leatherette cushions cracked from the hot climate, with holes through which the foam rubber stubbornly strives outward; the sofa, which was once a pistachio color, is stained. In some places there are traces of orbital plaster and hastily smeared with poultry; terrible green color of the walls in the bathroom, which reminded me of an old provincial railway station. The curtain in the bathroom is dirty beige with black mold stains at the bottom. But the plumbing looks new and did not cause disgust. It took some practice to close the sliding door to the terrace…
The layout of the room is good and comfortable. Everything was once thought conveniently and rationally...

The territory is very large, a lot of plants, tall palm trees, enough pools for everyone, a lot of bridges. The pools are cleaned, but due to the abundance of plants, they are constantly replenished with foliage. In principle, the territory is well planned and cozy. Some will need to memorize their routes. The beach is huge - there is also enough space for everyone. The buildings have oriental architecture and are different from each other, which is pleasing to the eye and provides different angles for photography enthusiasts.
But... Everything is running !! !... The first thing that struck me was the state of the sunbeds. They are old with tousled braids, with old mattresses of a terrible beige color with holes, protruding foam rubber, skewed, in a state of garbage. Many with welded structural rebar backrests - 5 stars? Sun umbrellas, which are not all laid out and very shabby, make up a harmonious set of these sunbeds and do not stand out from the general surroundings.
The beach is big but you can only use it to get your feet wet when the tide is in. In this case, it is necessary to find a special entrance, since the beach itself is raised to us by the sea. Coming to the beach alley, for those who like to dive, I advise you to go to the left side, where on the beach of the neighboring hotel there is a wooden pontoon that does not go far into the sea. But be very careful when descending into the water. There, the aluminum steps are very slippery, the handrails are uncomfortable, and with a slight wave of the sea, you can be injured, but you need it. I advise you to go along the beach to the right side to the territory of the Sunwing hotel - 5 minutes walk... There is a sandy gentle entrance to the sea. The sand is fine both on the beach and in the water. Entering the waist-deep water, you will reach a coral with many beautiful fish. A great place to relax with children and for those who do not want to "fight the elements. " Waiters will also serve you there and offer free drinks.
Restaurants. A lot of them. The waiters work selflessly - they quickly deliver the ordered drinks both in restaurants and by the pools. The food does not stand out from the food in other hotels. The choice is a bit poor, but there is an opportunity to dine in a la carte restaurants by signing up for the day at the restaurant itself. There are many free delicious dishes, but there are also paid delicacies on the menu. They are worth tasting. We liked it… The building of the main restaurant has an interesting architecture, but it clearly "requests" cosmetic repairs and replacement of furniture. In the afternoon, at lunch, next to the main restaurant, the chef prepares various meat and fish dishes on the grill. For aunts, the menu is meager, practically non-existent.

There are several shops and restaurants outside the hotel. I do not advise you to spend your money in stores, as prices here are very high compared to prices in Hurghada itself. To visit Hurghada, I advise you to use the free bus that runs twice a day - 14:10 to the old city and at 19:30 to the new city. You will be given enough time for walking and shopping. You can also order a taxi, but it makes no sense to pay. In Hurghada, for the most part, sellers reduce prices well - bargain. The Turks opened leather shops in the city. Huge range and good prices. For leather clothes, it is better to go by appointment with a promoter on the beach. You will be personally picked up from the hotel by car at a convenient time and returned back after shopping. Even if you do not buy anything, they will not ask you for money. You can just tip the driver. Turkish textile stores are overpriced and have a poor selection. I highly recommend free shopping trips from tour operators. Wasted time and nerves. You will be taken to where it is beneficial for the tour operator, and not for you.
In my review, I tried to be as truthful as possible and not find fault with the little things, but there are a lot of them... Believe me, there are decent hotels in Hurghada that I will not advertise. It's better to pay $200 and not spoil your mood with rubbish under the sun and peeling furniture in the room. Although, I see some people like it. I'm happy for them!
Something like this . . Have a nice holiday everyone...
