Rested family 2 adults and 2 children (8 and 11 years old) from 3 to 10 January 2009, also last minute. Liked. Of course, if we paid the full price, we would be less forgiving of shortcomings. In Egypt 5 times, this time we were very lucky with the weather and this determined the success of the holiday.
The architecture of the hotel, rooms and landscaping deserve the highest praise. The receptionist is highly inefficient. The rooms do not have the usual 5 * pleasant little things like a set for repairing clothes or body milk, only soap in a dispenser, but this affects the quality of rest minimally. But in winter, a kettle and a tea-coffee set came in handy. Cleaning of the room without any complaints. The behavior of the cleaner is courteous. without loose familiarity. At that time, when we were in a distant building in the desert, no one was settled. We immediately got a nice room overlooking the central pool and the sea. In winter, it is better to take rooms on the sunny south side (in building 3 they end with an even number). In general, the numbering system is as follows: the numbers are indicated by four digits (for example, 3123), where 1 digit is the building number (if you turn your back to the reception, then the 1st on the right, the 3rd on the left, and the 2nd in the middle; the 2nd digit indicates the floor (from 0 to 2) and the last 2 digits of the actual room number. The higher this number, the farther from the reception and closer to the sea. Distances in the hotel are decent. As for me, this is a plus.
The sea and the beach are potentially very good for those who love corals and are good swimmers, but not well maintained. There are rubbish and sharp pieces of coral in the sand. Slippers are a must. Tension with sunbeds during our stay was not observed.

Animation software, in principle, not bad for a hotel aimed at relaxation. Excellent professional manager of the children's club Lina.
And as has been written many times, the weakest point of the hotel is food, both in terms of organization and in terms of assortment. The food is almost vegetarian. All more or less edible dishes are handed out in small portions personally. Queues. Often there is simply no fruit for dinner, except for thoroughly wilted orange slices or unripe guava. We had ALL. For $8 a day per person you can upgrade to ULTRA, but we decided to spend this money on a paid fish restaurant, fresh juices and a trip to Hurghada for strawberries, mangoes, papaya and duty free alcohol. They didn't regret it at all. Plus, the bun and rice diet brightened up the obligatory Christmas dinner for $50 per person. Here they really fed well, although with traditional queues. I liked the espresso at the pool bar, good ice cream. Waiters are good. .
The hotel is far from civilization but close to nature. Young people without company will not like it, I think.
Our vacation was very interesting and eventful thanks to Saif Tours and its leader Ibrahim. For the first time we used the services of not a tour operator, but a competing company and were very satisfied. Naturally, at first there were doubts (especially after the horror stories told by the guides at the hotel), but the positive reviews and, most importantly, the clear, professional work of the Saif Tours employees convinced us. We got an excellent, unobtrusive, professional service for a price 25% lower than that of the tour operator. In absolute terms, on one excursion to Luxor for 4 people, the savings were $ 80. This is my second trip there and I can say that the tour program is exactly the same as it was for the first time with the tour operator. Also, at our request, Ibrahim arranged for us, for a moderate fee, a transfer from Makadi to Hurghada and back and a trip to a good and inexpensive fish restaurant. As well as a free sightseeing tour of Hurghada (with a stop only in those places where we want, and not at the obligatory perfume and papyrus factories). Of course, you can also take the bus yourself ($ 8 per person round trip).
