The hotel has just opened after 2 years of inactivity, they say they were doing repairs, updating furniture. At that moment, only 70 people were resting in the hotel, i. e. it was only 4-5% populated. We didn’t go to a restaurant for lunch, we lived on pasta, hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, pizza and vegetables on the beach. As for alcoholic drinks, there were Egyptian wines (red, white, rose), beer, rum, gin, whiskey, tequila, sambuca, vodka. Sea and pools
The hotel has at least 5 swimming pools, one with two large slides and one with waves. We are snorkelers, so we splashed in them only 1 time. By the way, the water in them is invigorating in November!
The sea is a separate topic for us, because we go to Egypt just for it! Since we had rested in Sharm 4 times before, we were very worried that in Hurghada we would not be able to fully enjoy the charm of the Red Sea. But this time it was decided to visit Luxor, so I had to consider the resorts of Hurghada. And with the choice of this particular hotel in Makadi Bay, we did not fail. The reef of the hotel, as for the western coast of the Red Sea, is very decent, one of the best for this area... There is something to compare: we were on a sea excursion, on the way to Utopia Island we stopped at the best reefs. But you need to swim quite far, to the outer reef, where the water is cleaner and there are more fish with live corals. We saw sharks, moray eels, rays, lionfish, etc.
Animation, entertainment
There is animation, very lively, but for the most part it is concentrated in the Stella Beach hotel. We came there a couple of times for an evening show, but since there are a lot of people, it’s impossible to find empty seats, we watched performances (belly dance, dance with skirts) standing near the stage for no more than 20 minutes. Yes, and we prefer a more relaxing holiday in the hotel, so we were not able to fully appreciate the efforts of the guys. But on the other hand, we went on two excursions: to Luxor and to Utopia Island. This time we decided to try to go on excursions with local guides, and not from a tour operator, and we did not regret it! Not only is the price 2-2.5 times cheaper, but the level of service is not inferior to that offered by hotel guides. We booked excursions with Mohamed Yhea (you can find him on VK), he is an excellent guide, and they don’t charge extra for a transfer from Makadi to Hurghada, so we recommend it!
Summing up the above, we can clearly say that our vacation went with a bang!
