The Red Sea is one of the reasons to visit Egypt. The beauty of its underwater world is mesmerizing! Once in contact with him, you want to do it again and again. It is difficult to convey in words all the splendor that opens up to the eye! True, provided that you choose the right place (and time). The place is all right, but the time. . . if we get lucky. The openness of the coastline (the absence of island barriers, as in the Hurghada area) periodically makes it impossible to enjoy snorkeling. Enthusiasts usually get up early, but lovers of soaking up in bed can expect a black flag. The last three days of my stay it was not filmed at all, and those who arrived at that time were slightly unlucky. Although if you really want to dive, you can walk to the neighboring group of hotels located along the shore of a natural bay, where the water is calm. Although there are administrative boundaries between hotels, I did not notice any special attempts to prevent the migration of vacationers. A ten-minute walk with an easy step will not hurt your health. . But this is an extreme case, you can also take a waist-deep dip in the small lagoon of the neighboring 4-ki RESTA REEF (and stare at a dozen or two fish stuck there, and if you're lucky - at an octopus). Periodic excitement is, in my opinion, the only significant minus of this place. Someone may not like the coastal strip, which requires special shoes for a comfortable entry into the sea (which, by the way, can be purchased for $ 10 at a local shop). There is a pier that is territorially owned by REEF, although both guests use it. At the time of my visit, it was undergoing a lengthy renovation. It was possible to use it, but walking on boards three times wide, abandoned without any fasteners, did not bring pleasure. But this is a temporary inconvenience. Technically, the beach itself is cut into the coastal stone and backfilled with sand, made in two levels (somehow reminded me of the beaches of Sochi sanatoriums from the times of the CPSU), in addition to the stairs, it is equipped with ramps for wheelchair users (in the hotel, it should be noted, they have not been forgotten anywhere, even special cubicle in the toilet). It's nice to stand on the second tier of the beach, sipping a cold beer and admiring the boundless sea surface! The main thing - do not forget to grab your diving equipment and get a device for underwater photography! There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas (someone is probably familiar with the picture of "booking" sunbeds from "Russian" hotels - here you are spared this whenever you go to the beach). The rooms are comfortable, spacious ("standard" - about 44 squares), structurally the same, vary in length depending on the number of beds (2 or 3 single beds, or twin beds), differ in color - terracotta and dark blue. Spacious bathroom. Safe in the room. There is also everything for tea and coffee. The fridge is really empty. But it can be filled from time to time with fruits taken from a restaurant, canned drinks from there (put out for breakfast) - they won’t grab you by the hands, you won’t become stuffed with bags yourself, and a couple of apples or bananas thrown into a beach bag will not cause sidelong glances of others. A 32" LCD TV is connected to the hotel's information system - any announcement will turn it on and you will be informed (if you are familiar with English). But English is still needed, at least a little. doesn’t understand you (although he doesn’t understand you! ). Waiters try to master Russian (traditional baksheesh is very helpful), and their “Arabic” English sometimes forces them to ask again several times. and you will ensure yourself an attentive attitude in a restaurant (it is useless to do this in bars, there is a rotation of personnel). In order not to spoil your mood, you just need to remember that they are also people, although they are Arabs, and while you are having a good time, they work hard, running there- here and carrying mountains of dirty dishes. Show a little understanding - and they will treat you the same way. Remember that ignorance of the language is your personal problem, they will try to explain to you at least "on the fingers", the status still obliges them to be loyal (in fairness, it should be noted that a good half of the bourgeoisie does not speak English either, for nothing that Europe). Of course, there are unsympathetic workers, but polite perseverance puts them in their place. In general, there are no complaints about the service staff. The cleaner of the room cleaned "on the conscience", carefully replenishing water supplies, tried to establish contact in the scope of his knowledge of English. Special "thanks" to PEGASU and his guides. They "try" not to bother you. And in everything. Go on an excursion? Well, why are you doing this? ! (And the pricing policy of excursions is generally surprising. As a result, "thanks" to such "care" I did not get to Aswan, which is within easy reach. ) Information about "what, where, when"? Well, after all, it’s written in English for you! PEGAS - a big minus of the whole holiday, well, at least they drove back and forth without jambs (and someone had suffered enough! ). If you have a healthy spirit of adventurism (and preferably a company), you can make excursions yourself - the hotel has an office where you can order transport to a point of interest to you. Do you want exotic? 60 kilometers to the north is the town of El Kuzeir. Do you want respectability? 5-6 km to the south Port Galeb. Find like-minded people and you will save. The manager, however, speaks English. But somehow you can explain yourself (in front of me, however, the language barrier did not stand). If you have the courage, you can conquer the route in a longer way, since there is something to see nearby - Luxor, Edfu, Aswan. Are there doubts? Then to PEGASU, the prices will "pleasantly" surprise you. (Cairo and the pyramids, in my opinion, are better from Hurghada - closer). . . Conclusions and photos in the third part. . .
