So I decided to write a little about our vacation at the Sol y Mar Solaya hotel, which is located in the town of Marsa Alam.
We went here on the recommendation of friends - the most reliable recommendation. This hotel did not disappoint us, and, according to my feelings and material costs (33.500 rubles for 2 for a week), in the price-quality competition, the quality exceeded the price. Well, more. The flight was delayed by 10 minutes, however, as a result, we arrived 15 minutes earlier, all the formalities at the airport went quickly. Transfer to our hotel took 15 minutes. We arrived at the hotel at 12:35 - settled immediately. A room with a view of the local chapel and a beautiful garden - which is typical, they prayed there almost every evening, but we never heard the calls of the mullah - maybe they now have such a new rule in hotels? The room is nicely refurbished, not new but nothing to complain about. Furniture, cabinets in colonial style. Room, 14 meters, corridor - 2-3 m, bath 4 meters, balcony - 5 m, light, spacious.
Cleaned every day, not super clean but ok. From time to time we received surprises a la towel art. Left 1 euro daily. Moreover, on the first day I left the euro - the room was cleaned, but the euro remained untouched. I had to write a note every day to our humble household assistant - "Hello, the tips for you! Thank you! Maria" - I started taking it! They are modest here, not spoiled by Russian crap service. treat each client with respect, regardless of nationality. It's true. And she is very pleasant. You feel like a client. Here I talked a lot with the attendants - they have NEVER seen a drunken Russian, an impudent Russian, so they love Russians very much, they are sincerely interested in Russians. They don't speak Russian, but everyone knows English very well. Marsa Alam is a unique place.

People don’t come here to drink, they come here to enjoy the silence, nature and the sea (the hotel is located on the territory of the reserve), respectively, nice Russian people come here, who formed respect for themselves and for our country in the Egyptians of this area. For our part, we ourselves (I was vacationing with my 16-year-old daughter) and all those lovely Russians - Evgeny with his wife Lena, Vitalik big, Vitalik little with his mother, Masha, Vera and others, we all tried, and I hope, successfully , correspond to the European level of recreation, do not stand out in the bad sense of the word. I hope we succeeded. Yes, and it was not difficult - not to make a fuss, not to get drunk, not to go to a restaurant in swimsuits, cleanly flush after yourself in a public toilet, wash your hands after that, never take more food than you can eat, the most terrible and insulting thing for the staff - half-eaten food on plates and more ... we learned to smile.
We are northern people, more closed than locals, than Europeans. You need to make it a habit, meeting someone's gaze - to smile and say: "Hello! " - it's not embarrassing. This is the norm all over the world. Many of our people get annoyed when the Egyptians ask them: "How are you? ". Not necessary! ! ! It's just the equivalent of "How are you? " - a phrase that is a greeting throughout the English-speaking world. Answer in - Egyptian - "quaiz" with an accent on and, or "Meya Meya" - it means everything is ok ! ! In response, you can ask: "Aimeli? " - This means how are you? , in Egyptian. They taught me this themselves. They will be very happy. Sea - corals stretch for 1-1.5 km on both sides of the bay. The fish are diverse, the corals are alive. The dolphins are coming. The left reef, the one from the side of Iberotel Coraya - for snorkels, the right one from the pier and towards Iberotel Samaya - for divers. It is more interesting, because there is an opportunity to swim closer to the corals, to swim in small bays that form corals.
Let me remind you that the hotels are located in a protected area, so most of the corals are fenced. There are no yachts, a beautiful view of the open sea. There were always free sunbeds. They fed us deliciously, I'm not an expert on meat, because I haven't eaten it for a long time, and everything else was not bad, although I think it can be better. During my stay, no one got poisoned, there were always enough tables, and they were always served, and for dinner, exclusively snow-white, starched tablecloths were always waiting for us. Only glassware, no queues. The restaurant manager knows everyone by name. Ayman, my respect to you! ! . The chef is a nice fat man, he tries very hard to please everyone. Waiters. . You just freed the plate. . once... and it's gone. Removed. The restaurant is big. Lots of places. Pools. There are three of them. We discard one, because it is winter and it is not heated.
The other two (adult round - 25 meters in diameter and children's round - 8 meters in diameter) perfectly fulfill their function - they are very warm and there are not many people splashing there. Animation only in Italian. If you know English, it is also very comfortable. The hotel area is not very large, but it is part of the Madinat Coraya hotel chain - this is Iberotel Samaya, Iberotel Lamaya, Iberotel Coraya, Sol y mar dar el madina, Sol y mar Solaya - five hotels are combined into a common territory, it turns out a lot of space for hiking, a 1 km 600 m long path is very good - it passes near the sea through all these hotels, it's great to run along it in the morning, 100 meters are marked with poles. In general, I liked it!
