We chose the resort solely in terms of coral richness. I have been to Egypt three times. The main goal was to see as many living creatures under water as possible, and from this point of view, they did not fail. Briefly:
Tour operator: Anex tour - horror!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! We want to warn other tourists. Do not contact this tour operator if you choose a remote, not beaten resort, and Marsa Alam is exactly like that..... We never saw our guide at the hotel, no one offered us excursions, which was very upsetting, because. wanted to go diving. The problem is that it takes 3 hours to go from Hurghada to Marsa Alam and the guides just don't want to strain themselves with long trips. But excursions are still half the trouble....(((And how do you like the fact that no one warned us about the time of departure from the hotel, about the transfer in general? Not a single poster had an announcement about when we would be picked up from the hotel and they will take you to the airport. If it were not for the excellent command of English, we would still cook in Egypt to this day. Moreover, all the Anex tour phones that we were given back in Ukraine did not work in Egypt when they tried to dial them at the reception. We were able to get this tour operator thanks to Pegas, whose employee used to work at Anex and he gave us the correct phone number. We were just going to call a taxi and get to the airport on our own, only a decent amount - 100 USD. In the end, we got through to this unscrupulous tour operator and reminded that we are their tourists and want to go home!!!
Excursions: 2 times more expensive than in any other resort. Due to the fact that the resort is more designed for Europeans, and not for the Slavs. If the year before last we went from Makadi to the pyramids for 65 c. u. per person, then in Marsa Alam this excursion cost about 125 USD per person, and so all excursions are absolutely !!!!!!!

Food: Chinese, Indian, European cuisine, pretty good, but not great, as in all of Egypt in principle. Fruits: bananas, watermelon, pears, apples, dates, grapes. Grilled crabs are just disgusting, which upset me a little ((((
Transfer: it's hard to go 3 hours, but you can certainly endure. Upon arrival at the airport, be sure to find out the name and phone number of the guide!!!!!
Staff: a very positive impression, there is no impudence characteristic of the Arabs towards us, a correct and pleasant attitude.
Animation: weak for those who like to hang out and be the center of attention.
Well, and most importantly: CORALS - to see more, you need to swim not along the coast near the corals, but from pantone to the depths of the open sea (within reasonable limits, of course !!! ). We saw a lot of huge turtles (one even surfaced on the surface of the water, we swam up to it and touched it), a shark (2 meters), barracudas (my husband saw the tail of a 3-meter barracuda, not for the faint of heart !!! , she lives on the territory of the hotel and some run into it in the late afternoon), stingrays, and the most memorable....dolphins, to see them we were in the open sea every morning at 7-30 and swam in the sea for 1.5-2 hours waiting for this miracle ! Only once in 10 days we were lucky enough to meet them face to face, it was a family, a male, a female and a cub, they swam right up to us, started diving under us, playing..... well, what can I say, it's just super!! ! We are very lucky 8-)
