or how to ruin a vacation with Mostravel
We have dreamed of this vacation for a long time. Last year my son was born, so my wife and I decided to give up air travel. And so, when the child was 1 year and 2 months old, we finally decided to fly over the hill with the whole family. It took a long time to decide where to go. Finally settled on Egypt. Firstly, this is the shortest flight to the warm sea in November and, secondly, I have never been there yet. Unfortunately for my wife, I could not find more than 5 free vacation days in my work schedule. But we decided that these 5 days should be unforgettable for us, our family, a reward for waiting. We have been waiting for our joint vacation for 2 years, while my wife was pregnant and while my baby was small. And now our time has come!

I did not choose a tour operator for a long time. In the area of the Novokuznetskaya metro station (Pyatnitsky lane, 2), not far from my office, I went to the office of the Mostrevel agent (the company is called Recreation Sphere +), where I asked to pick up a clean hotel for me, in a quiet place, on the seashore. According to the catalog, I chose the hotel. The best was the Iberotel Coraya beach hotel in Marsa Alam. Hotel class - 5 stars with a plus! I have stayed in many five star hotels, but never in 5+*. “This must be something incredible, ” I thought then. Having negotiated for myself a 5 percent discount, I gave away the equivalent of $2.000. For 4 nights. But what!
I received tickets and a ticket a day before departure. And then I saw that the promised carrier "Atlant-Soyuz" with the Il-86 aircraft turned into some kind of "Kavminvody Avia" with Tu. I was a little concerned about this, clarified what the financial situation of this company is. But I received assurances that everything would be fine, the planes were new, and so on. Well, let there be "Kavminvody". Tu-tu!!
Departure was at 10 o'clock Moscow time. It is clear that you need to leave the house no later than 7 o'clock in the morning. While we collected a small child, we did not have time to have breakfast. “Nothing, ” I said to my wife, “they will feed you on the plane. After all, we have a luxury holiday. ” The flight was on schedule. This is a plus. And then only cons. Began to carry drinks. It turns out that only one drink per passenger was relied upon. Do I need to explain what 100 grams of juice is for a nursing mother with an almost 5-hour flight? ? And we checked in a bottle of our water in our luggage, due to safety rules. They brought food, and immediately a murmur went through the plane. I will list the contents of the lunch box (since it will not be difficult): fresh cabbage salad (50 grams), two slices of black bread, a wheat bun and butter. It seems to me that the passengers did not quite understand where they ended up - on an international flight to Egypt or in a soviet student canteen. Then they brought it hot. The choice was - or sausage with pasta, or pancake. On the second row, the sausages are over, only pancakes are left. Pancakes, despite the slight hunger, it was impossible to eat - they turned out to be very fatty. They began to wait for hot tea to melt the fat. And then it turned out that there would be no tea. And there will be no coffee. There will be nothing. There was no limit to the indignation of the passengers, to which the stewardess replied - sorry, the flight was a charter, and the customer ("Mostravel") did not order or pay for boiling water. For money, as it turned out, you can’t buy tea either. I wonder how much Mostrevel saved on boiling water. Probably 5 rubles for each tourist. . . Damn economists!
When I checked into the hotel, I discovered that the lock on the door was not fixed and the door could be easily opened from the outside. Representatives of Mostravel in Marsa Alam, without waiting for the resettlement of their tourists, had already faded away, so I had to go to the reception. I asked to change the number. They refused me, saying that in 20 minutes the master would come and fix everything. After 40 minutes, someone came, I showed the broken door, he looked, nodded his head and left. And did not return. I had to go back to swear at the reception. After 10 minutes of dialogue, the number was changed. It took 3 hours of rest to move with bags around the hotel.

By 6 o'clock the representatives of "Mostrevel" arrived. Brunettes in ties with sad eyes. I did not have time to approach them with claims, as the group that arrived included less seasoned tourists. If you remove the emotions, then the essence of their requirements was as follows:
1. room with a view of the fence;
2. empty mini-bar, not even water to take pills (it's ALL IN);
3. no towels;
4. no slippers and bathrobes;
5. dirty rooms.
Representatives promised to solve everything, but did not solve anything. Numbers are a separate song. Let me tell those who don't know what a 5+ star hotel looks like. Alas, this is not a Hilton, and not even Chinese Kuntai with marble bathrooms, marble floors, white beds, expensive furniture and appliances (where, by the way, a room costs about $ 100 per day with an amazing breakfast). Alas, these are only 5 star hotels. But the five-star hotel with a plus looks like this:
1. cheap wooden furniture.
2. old dirty tiles, both in the rooms and in the bathrooms.
3. non-working hair dryer.
4. a shower in the style of a la barracks with a hole in the floor (by the way, it clogged, and after 30 seconds the water in the entire bath was ankle-deep) and without a curtain.
I tried to explain to them that such service is not a five-star hotel. Maybe 3-4*. But it seems to the locals that anything better than a Bedouin tent is already a five-star hotel.
Just in case, I captured it all on camera to show my friends about the 5+ star hotel from Mostravel.
Dirt in the rooms is generally a characteristic feature of the hotel. When I entered the bathroom, I saw a used ear stick on the floor. I suddenly remembered that we forgot to take the ear sticks with us. When we left the hotel, the ear stick continued to lie in its place. In the rooms, wet cleaning is not done in principle. And while you get from the shower to the bed, your legs are black. Where do you think the child spends time when he is in the room? On the penultimate day, I dragged the manager by the scruff of the neck to supervise the cleaning (mopping).

On the second day the room was cleaned. They probably brought flowers for beauty and put them on the bed. Alas, their beautiful gesture turned into new problems for us. Upon arrival, we saw that small ants were crawling all over the bed. Upon closer investigation, we found that they were coming out of the flower. In order not to waste time on sorting things out (after all, these bastards will spread all over the room), we threw away the flower and tugged the blanket on the street. The next day, we guarded the cleaner, and explained on our fingers that there should not be any more flowers in our room.
Our baby eats milk, kefir (brought from home), bread and fruit. We were afraid to give him the rest of the food at the hotel. Once he slept the whole dinner in his arms, so we took fruit with us to feed him when he wakes up. But at the exit from the restaurant, these fruits were taken away from us, explaining that we only need to eat in a restaurant. I tried to explain that the child had not eaten since 3 pm and would most likely get up at night and be very hungry. And then, I paid 2.000 dollars for 4 nights, is it really not included in this amount of fruit for the child? And where can I buy fruit elsewhere if the hotel is in the middle of the desert??
It turned out that not only fruits, but also drinks for dinner were not included (and in Moscow they promised all drinks for dinner free of charge, except for alcoholic ones). Also not included is the sauna, gym…
Somehow the unfortunate Russian tourists gathered together. We talked. As a last resort, I dialed the phone number of my travel agent in Moscow. “Masha, why do you hate me so much, why did I do this to you? ” I talked about my five-star vacation, and fellow sufferers nearby suggested: “Tell me that there is no animation here at all, you have to go to the nearby Lamaya Hotel. ” I asked Masha if she wanted to listen to other tourists. Masha didn't want to.
Another thing is surprising - the questionnaire is given to tourists at the hotel immediately upon arrival. How can you judge the service if you just arrived??
In March 2009 I once again went to Hurghada with TEZ-Tour to LTI Titanic beach. For 11 days I paid $1836 and got a super holiday! ! I chose a hotel for a long time, I checked Russian and English sites. And chose what you need! A completely different level of service, clean rooms (cleaning every day! ), water park, really friendly staff (and with a tip - just ready to do anything! ). In general, Egypt was rehabilitated before me. : -)

I also want to fly to Sharm El Sheikh in September - just not to miscalculate with the hotel!
