I want to share my impressions of the rest in Elaria as detailed as possible. Perhaps someone will help.
We rested in August together with a young man for 2 weeks. In order:
Hotel location:
Nuweiba is the nearest settlement, quite far from the airport, about 2 and a half hours drive. The hotel is 20 minutes from the town. The area is underdeveloped. Convenient for excursions to Israel and Jordan, because. to the border in Taba about an hour (Taba from this position is even more convenient), excursions from here are cheaper than from Sharm. To Cairo - also through Taba by a detour faster than from Sharm.
There is nothing good around the hotel - the desert, an unfinished hotel nearby. But, in general, there was no desire to walk around the Arab country outside the hotel, so it didn’t interfere too much. Outside the hotel beach, Bedouins settled on both sides. They are not overly intrusive. But due to poor development, the sea is alive, the fish are not intimidated, the corals are not broken.

About the hotel:
From what I saw on the way from the airport, I concluded that there is no accuracy in the mentality of the Egyptians. Already the entrance group of Elaria pleased, because. There were far worse hotels along the way. We had to wait until 12 noon. In general, everything corresponds to the photos on the Pegasus website. The first impression was quite normal, despite the individual jambs all due to the same carelessness. Number upset the same. Curtains in the hole, the corner is not whitewashed. At first they thought to change and at the same time beg on the second floor, but after talking with the people, they decided not to waste time moving. Everyone in the room has their own problems - something does not work, something is bad. Everything worked for us: air conditioner, refrigerator, TV, hair dryer, safe. So the ugly corner was simply covered by moving the chair, although the curtains continued to annoy.
The hotel area is quite large. The landscaping is not rich. But, in my opinion, when you go to rest in the desert, you need to understand that greenery is a luxury, not the norm. Palm trees were both shabby and quite decent.
I liked the architecture of the buildings. Against the backdrop of the sea on one side and the mountains on the other, cream-colored buildings with laconic forms look beautiful. Quite conveniently located.
Bottom line: I agree with the opinion of the majority that the hotel does not pull on a 4 *. But not the fact that the neighbor is better. Such is Egypt.
About nutrition:

Really pretty uniform. At first I really liked it. Several side dishes, chicken, meat, fish, enough desserts, fruits. Deliciously cooked. But over time, they began to notice that there was less meat, less chicken, and fish was not always attractive. You definitely won’t die of hunger, but without any special frills. From the food on the excursions, I conclude that these are again the features of Egypt. Roughly the same everywhere. They bought water for drinking ($1 per bottle), and for washing, washing fruits and other things, they poured it from a cooler. Under no circumstances should you drink water from the tap.
As for fruits - if you want to buy, the nearest one is in Nuweiba (for $ 2 you can go, not far). In the dining room they served goava and some kind of puree, obviously mango to taste, dates, a lot of grapes, melon, sometimes watermelon and bananas.
About staff:
Pretty friendly. Most people understand Russian. For a tip (bashish) one shift of maids (they are guys) made figures from towels for us - very nice. Another change with the same tip never did. Again, not very accurate.
About entertainment:
The animation team consisted of 3 people (2 locals and a Russian girl). The locals speak excellent Russian. Every day water aerobics, volleyball or water polo. Evening disco. Folk dancers were invited twice - a dance with skirts. I liked it very much. And the disco is boring, no one was dancing, but it also depends on the vacationers. Thanks to a large number of Russians, a company was quickly found, so they talked, played billiards, and entertained themselves. There is a hookah bar on site. I liked it very much. Cheap hookah, freshly squeezed juices and ice cream pleased. It's paid, but not expensive. Very nice bartender there, calm and smiling.
About shops: the hotel has souvenir shops, etc. It is definitely more profitable to buy masks and snorkels (a set of about $ 8), slippers for swimming on corals ($ 4). A lot of all sorts of things, although much is Chinese consumer goods. Souvenirs are cheaper in Cairo, but they don’t inspire confidence on excursions there.
Roma's store is a different story. The seller is cheerful, speaks excellent Russian. In the evening, companies of vacationers gathered there, treated them to tea and hookah, talked about local customs. Good entertainment for the evenings.
Everywhere you have to bargain.
About excursions:

We went through Pegasus and took excursions from them. Someone thinks that this is an overpayment. Personally, peace is more precious to us. Everything was organized without any problems. Picked up right on time. Tracked negligent lagging tourists. An excellent guide was in Jerusalem (and in general the tour is super). I really enjoyed the boat trip.
About the sea:
And finally the most important thing. Whatever the impressions of the country and the hotel, the sea will not let you regret the money and time spent! Colored fish, corals of extraordinary beauty, shells…. The spirit is captivating! Detail: if you have not purchased a ticket yet, pay attention to the presence of a pantone or a pier, it is safer with them. If you have already chosen Elaria, the features of entering the sea are as follows: the point is not that you have to go far in the shallows, the point is that you have to go partially along the dead corals, and sea urchins live in them and are generally not very convenient. Everything is much more pleasant if you find a successful entry into the sea. It's there, but it's not marked. It is located on the left (facing the sea) already beyond the border of the hotel's beach, you need to go diagonally, and then move perpendicular to the coast approximately at the level of the central building of the neighboring unfinished hotel (it becomes clear on the spot). There is sand, no hedgehogs. You find yourself in a wonderful backwater among corals, where colored fish are fed! It's already interesting. Lionfish live there, it is better to look at a distance))). And then you can swim quite a bit over the corals (at high water, or walk through them at low tide) and find yourself behind a reef. Swimming along it is the most interesting thing.
The reef near the hotel is SOOO beautiful! Lots of different fish.
For those who just want to swim in a normal deep sea with sand, without fear of getting scratched by coral, this is possible. You need to go beyond the territory of Elaria beach to the right for about 5 minutes. Not very convenient, but for those who need it, there is an exit.
That seems to be all. The main thing - of course the mood! We returned with great experiences. Wish you same.
