Traveled with my husband in April 2018. The hotel was chosen on the recommendation of friends - they were looking for a quiet, comfortable rest and at a reasonable price. First time in Egypt. The flight was overnight, we arrived at the hotel at about 7 o'clock in the morning. We settled in almost immediately, choosing one of the three proposed rooms. Settled on the 3rd floor overlooking the park. Please note - rooms for 4 and 5 do not have balconies! We were not fed breakfast - they said that it is impossible without bracelets, and "the owner of the bracelets comes only at 10 o'clock. "
But since, according to the terms of the tour, check-in is only from 12.00, we were not sad, but changed in the room and went to the sea. Through a beautiful park. Touched and admired by palm trees, multi-meter cacti, emerald green lawn and well-groomed territory. The gardener takes care of the plants from dawn to dusk, he was seen every day at work. Great job and great park!
Cute white birds resembling herons walk across the lawn. but the size of a chicken. A few words about the architecture of the hotel - without architectural frills from the outside and comfortable from the inside. There is a fountain and a stream inside the building, but during our stay there was no water in them (obviously, due to the partial occupancy of the hotel). Guests - Germans, Yugoslavs, Poles. Czechs, Latvians, Belarusians, Ukrainians, Russians. The hotel part of the rooms and bungalows were renovated, but it was absolutely relaxed for the guests - quiet, clean.

The ROOM we had was pleasant - plumbing, tiles are new, the furniture in the room is not new, but well-groomed. Sliding wardrobe of the old model, but did not spoil the overall picture. Bed linen and towels are new and excellent quality. Special thanks for the cleaning - towels, shampoo, etc. were in sufficient quantity, the floor everywhere, including the balcony, was washed well. Figures from blankets and sheets were also pleasing to the eye.
Nicely! When there was no reason to clean, she put up a "do not disturb" sign. The air conditioner worked well. TV showed 4 channels in Arabic. Turned on once for 3 minutes. Cons: Fridge was rattling. from age. Since there was no need for it, there were enough visits to the restaurant and bars, we kept it turned off. Life was well established.
NUTRITION. The restaurant is spacious, zoned, there are tables outside. The food was good, fresh and varied: meat, fish, chicken, a variety of vegetables, baked and grilled, an abundance of fresh vegetables and fruits (large sour oranges and small very sweet ones, melons, watermelons, dates, guava and some small green fruits and yellow, also delicious; tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and salads). The cuisine is mostly European, not spicy, but there were separate tables with local dishes (falafel, ful, etc. ), as well as a variety of spices.
Desserts can be described for a very long time - it was not possible to try everything. But I wanted to! Baking is interesting - from light and dark (with cocoa) dough. Tasty! Near the restaurant there is a hearth in which a woman bakes cakes at lunchtime and in the evening, very spectacular and appetizing. There is a grill at the entrance to the restaurant. Every evening passed under the sign of some kind of national cuisine and you could see, take part in cooking and try Egyptian sausages or Italian pasta, etc. SERVICE in the restaurant, in the bars on the beach and by the pool, at the reception was at a good level. Very attentive sommelier, a glass of wine did not have to wait long. Local alcohol - "C grade".

The language of communication is English, but if you needed to ask something in Russian, there was always someone who could understand you. Knowing two or three dozen Arabic words made my communication especially pleasant, and gave my husband a reason to be proud of his wife. The POOL is beautiful, but everyone swam in the sea. Near the pool it is nice to sit in the evening and watch the work of the animators. BEACH sandy, clean, umbrellas and sunbeds in sufficient quantity. The depth of the sea here is very suitable for windsurfing and kitesurfing, the areas for athletes and swimmers are separated. 30-40 meters from the shore, the depth increases, but corals can be seen even at a depth of 1.5 meters.
The sun rises early, just after 5 o'clock, because of the sea, very rapidly (several minutes). An unforgettable sight!! ! Didn't miss a single sunrise. On the other side of the hotel - road, desert and mountains. The sunset behind the mountains is also very beautiful. Direct sunlight burns, beach cosmetics are very useful. The heat is easily tolerated, as the air is very dry. Shams Safaga Resort is one of three hotels located away from the city of Safaga. After sunset, it is pleasant to walk in three parks, breathe the sea and admire every plant illuminated by your lantern. Mosquitoes are angry in the evening, so mosquito cream and a fumigator with plates in the room will be useful.
TOURS. We went to Hurghada, an interesting city. Went several times to Safaga - very friendly and helpful locals. Spent the day on the high seas on a five-deck yacht. Impressive! I would like to go fishing from the nearest pier next time. 7 days of rest is not long, but if you plan correctly and do not sit in your room, you can do a lot and bring vivid photos and impressions.
Dear hotel staff! Thank you all so much!! ! One feels a good attitude towards guests not under duress, but from the heart. Did not like - incomplete loading of the hotel. I hope there will be more guests, the fountain and the stream will be filled with water, the rest of the bars and restaurants will work. Good luck!
