From May 9 to May 23.2013, 3 couples rested with friends at the Shams Safaga 4 * hotel. This is not the first trip to Egypt, the first time was in 2006.
HOTEL with a green area and compact, everything is conveniently located. There are enough different shops with goods and a fruit shop nearby, and go a little further through the double road 700 meters, there are a number of shops with normal prices, there are also products and fruits, there is also a Jasmine cafe with inexpensive WI-FI (10 pounds 1 hour), but the speed is very low.
In this hotel, and in all nearby Wi-Fi - for a fee!
There are many vacationers with small children, but I can’t imagine what they fed them ...the food is spicy.
During the 15 days of stay at the hotel, the light was cut out twice, not for very long, and once there was no water for several hours either in the rooms or on the beach, I had to rinse after the sea in the pool.

Large cockroaches, geckos and ants, many birds and a lot of mosquitoes were seen around the hotel in the evening. We got only mosquitoes.
Bungalow NUMBER №1109.
There is everything you need in the room - Pantene disposable shampoo bags and soap bars. The hair dryer was brought from the reception on request - powerful enough. There were only 2 towels for two in the room and 1 for the face (and there should be more in a 4 * hotel). Small empty minibar, cooled food normally. Small TV with 1 Russian channel. Cleaned in the room is not very good, regardless of whether they put a dollar or not.
There is a line for drying clothes.
FOOD is not bad, none of our company of 7 people had stomach problems. There was a choice of dishes besides fruits. For all 15 days, only oranges, dates, and fruit salad with melons in the morning were given from fruits, and that's all.
Good cakes are baked by an Arab woman in front of the entrance to the restaurant.
Breakfast, as elsewhere in Egypt, is standard - sausages with vegetables, scrambled eggs, yogurt and something else there.
For lunch and dinner, a good choice of meat, vermicelli, potatoes, rice. You can dine at the beach bar.
Tea in bags 4 types, instant coffee powder in a plate - for breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant, and at lunchtime you can take tea at the pool bar and bring it to the restaurant.
Ice cream 4 types every day by the pool from 16.00 to 17.00.
Vegetables were always fresh and cut into salads right in front of us.
ALCOHOL. Wine is white, red and sometimes rosé from bags and sometimes from bottles. Stella beer - all this is quite normal, but with strong drinks it is worse, they are all diluted to about 30 *.
The Germans are mostly with thermo mugs, it is convenient and you do not have to wait for glasses, which are sometimes not enough.

THE BEACH is just GOLD! ! ! Suitable for children and non-swimmers, smooth sand entry into the sea. For those who want to swim in the depths, it is also not a problem to walk a little further into the depths and there are small islands with corals and fish. Of course, this is not the same as in Sharm or Marsa Alam - but we even had enough of these corals with fish!
You can always swim in the sea, this is a win-win option compared to Marsa Alam and Sharm. And another big plus of this hotel is that near the pier, on the right side of the yachts, large turtles sail to the buoys for breakfast and lunch. We noticed two, one is very large and shy, and the second is slightly smaller, about one and a half meters in diameter, makes contact as if to play (patted her on the shoulder with a flipper), but we were told that there were 3 of them. We met with them almost every day.
On the beach behind the buoys in the designated area, many go kiting and surfing, but they did not prevent us from swimming further away. There is a diving club near the pier. Three yachts and two boats sailed near the pier every day, but the water was clear.
On the right side of the pier there is hydrogen sulfide mud, aground they are visible in piles up to the bone, or you can get this healing mud under the sand for 5 cm.
Ebb and flow every day, as usual in the Red Sea.
POOL with several compartments in depth.
A small compartment with the largest depth of 3 meters - jump only with a bomb, the rest of the compartments smoothly transition to the children's one.
ANIMATION is, tried, but we did not participate. Evening shows are also held from 21.30, we went to the Arab shows because we like how the guy Dervish dances with Tanuru's skirts. We didn't attend the rest of the shows.
EXCURSIONS from the guide we did not take, the prices are too high. There were 7 of us and we organized individual excursions for ourselves from a local guy in a red T-shirt Mahmud, he calls himself Misha for Russians. It is very easy to recognize him - such chic long eyelashes as extensions, a very pleasant guy to talk to. We took Dendera-Luxor-Karnak individually, and we liked the quads of only 6 in the group so much that we took the quads again without visiting the Bedouin village - but just to drive for 2 hours.

He also provided us with a bonus car for 6 seats in Hurghada, we went to the Sheraton for shopping, stopped by Senzo Mall not only for shopping, but also to use free Wi-Fi and returned to the hotel for dinner.

BUY tour from TO turtess, meeting party TUI , AI 2 persons 14 nights Standard Room 1415 $. Air carrier utair "UTair-Ukraine" back and forth on time, without comment.
There is a separate transfer from Hurghada to Safaga, they brought tourists to Makadi Bay to only four hotels, so the journey took 50 minutes, and at 19.00 we were at the hotel, immediately gave the keys and took us to the bungalow without any additional payments and hints, although the standard tour was paid cheaper. Three rooms in a row, and as luck would have it, we were caught with a non-working air conditioner, and in fact my birthday was a few days later.
With an unpleasant aftertaste, we went to the reception and asked to change the room, we were offered in another bungalow where the air conditioner worked, but was so old and was not regulated from below (you need to stand on a stool every time to set the work). And when closing the door, the handle turned out to be in my hand, it's good that this is a bungalow and you can exit through the window. Without unpacking, we spent the night in this room, and in the morning again at the reception. In general, after looking at another room, we decided to return to the first one, we set up the air conditioner for a fan without cold, we decided that we would survive this moment, there would be nothing worse. Now I perfectly understand why there are so different reviews, it all depends on which room you are placed in, most of the rooms with old furniture, green color and wooden air conditioning are very buzzing and not regulated. The mosquitoes just got stuck, I had to constantly ask for room processing before going to bed.
Administrator Iwona from Poland was very helpful in resolving all issues related to the hotel. We didn't get any help from the guide.

In general, the rest was successful despite the small troubles. Everything is not very smooth. We took a tour at an average price, so the requirements should not be too high. With this money it was possible to pick up a hotel in Sharm, but not the first line. As it turned out, we have not yet explored all of Egypt! That's how we visited the next resort in Egypt - Safaga. I will refrain from recommending to friends - perhaps because they rested better at lower tour prices.
Good luck choosing a hotel and have an unforgettable vacation! ! !
