I rested at the Old Palace Hotel from November 7 to November 17.2017. In general, the rest was a success, everyone was satisfied.
I have been to Egypt many times, but probably for the first time I saw how the entire hotel staff works conscientiously, and not just portrays work, everything is in business, all the wishes of vacationers are taken into account. I think this is a great merit of the hotel administration, all the work of the employees is constantly monitored, there were often calls to the room from the staff with questions about the quality of the rest and some wishes were taken into account, thanks to her for that. There was not a single employee who would have caused a negative, the staff was selected very professionally (well, except that the bartender at the counter in the lobby bar is not very kind and often with “cloudy eyes”, but these are trifles).
I want to warn those who want to choose this hotel right away: yes - excellent service, friendly staff, but a hotel for families with children and couples the first days of the rest everything was noisy: crowds of screaming, crying, whining children and mothers

(with all the love for children, it is very annoying), early morning booking sunbeds on the beach and running for breakfast (after 30 minutes everything will be removed from the sunbeds), searching for tables in a restaurant, noise under the windows from street animation in the evening. I repeat - if you are ready for this, then go, but if you have children, then everything will be very good.
The beach and the sea are 5, there is nothing to add, there are never waves and warm water, because the wind in this place always blows from land, there is no strong depth, there are no currents.
Regarding the choice of rooms: we had a deluxe suite (they are all on the ground floor with direct access to the sea and the pool), very spacious 47 sq. m. , but under the windows from 7 am to the evening as a checkpoint, there is no privacy, no window to open, no drying for the night, and in the evenings children's and adult animations are very close. So I did not see the advantages of deluxe, except for the extra 10 meters, the overpayment is not worth it. If you want to spend on comfort - take a chalet (in a new building and in complete silence).
Near the hotel there are excellent walking calm areas - a palace with fountains, a promenade on the embankment with cafes, shops and palm trees, everything is insanely beautiful and quiet, you can fall in love with this place and want to come back here.
In general, the hotel and the Sahl Hasheesh area are recommended for a visit.
