This summer we decided to go to Hurghada, visited Sharm once, decided to fulfill my husband's dream - to see Luxor.
God forbid you get to Kyiv Gunsel! Before reaching 100 km to Kyiv, our bus broke down, which is not surprising. We left Kremenchug late for 40-45 minutes! Apparently, they planned to make up the distance on a good road. Well, they caught up, yes: I smelled the smell of burning, and soon, right behind Piryatin, at the Wog stop, we got stuck. Two eccentric drivers poked around in the engines for about 15 minutes without notifying the passengers about the breakdown. Half of them, for a moment, went to the airport! No one helped on the Gunsel hotline - a terrible rude person is sitting there. The replacement bus, according to the drivers, had to wait 3-4 hours, in the end I decided to look for a ride right at the gas station. I was lucky, and my husband and I, and another frightened woman, whose plane left more than an hour earlier than ours, got straight to Terminal D with a breeze - many thanks to our rescuers, who did not even name themselves. Gods on a black Range Rover with Zaporozhye license plates starting, if I'm not mistaken, at 31, hello to you if you're reading?
Flight neither there nor back was delayed, 15-20 minutes does not count. They flew well. Carrier - TPG, meeting party in Egypt - Flash Tour. More on the latter later, but for now I’ll only say that, despite the visa / visam $ 25 signs, they charged us 27 each. 2 dollars.

We chose, as is already clear, the Citadel Albatros hotel, which used to belong to the Azur chain and was called the Citadel Azur Resort. If you don't want to pay extra for a sea view, this is definitely the place for you. The sea can be seen from every room. The rooms are huge! We had a standard the size of a small apartment - 50-55 meters. There is almost no furniture, and what passes for it is made of marble: tables, lamp stands, bedside tables, if you can call them that. There is a large dressing room with a b / pl safe, shelves. The bathroom is also not small, it has a separate compartment - a shower with glass doors and a low step. Shower cap, shampoos, conditioner, solid soap and gel in the machine in the bathroom and in the shower, hair dryer.
There is also a sewing kit, a mini-bar, in which a couple of half-liter bottles of water, sprite and cola. Replenished every time the room is cleaned.
Also in the room there is a kettle, cups, glasses, various teas, sugar, coffee bags and powdered milk.
Central air conditioning, Carrier company, with an individual wall-mounted remote control is set perfectly - it does not blow on guests. Slept by setting it to 24 degrees and low speed.
The balcony is huge! It offers stunning sea views. The entire hotel is built in tiers, the highest rooms, if I'm not mistaken, are in buildings 7 and 8. The building farthest from the reception (read - from the canteen) building, but closest to the sandy beach - 5.
The hotel may not be very green, but the territory is well-groomed. Yes, repairs are underway on the lower tiers, but, in the words of the heroes of the film Office Romance, "they have the same working day as we do. " There are no days off in the hotel, and so it is constantly being improved - you have to endure it. Under us, the old bulky flat-screen TVs were replaced with 40-inch Samsung plasmas. The tables in the lobby were also changed - from white marble to brown. They bring in and change new mattresses, new tables, open new cafes. In a word, the work is in full swing. The only thing that got in our way during the week was the sound of a hammer: a worker was changing the cracked sections of the track in the corridor. They came from the beach - everything was already done. Well, the day before, they heard a similar sound from below or from the side during the day. In general, extraneous sounds are not heard, especially when the air conditioner is on, and in such heat it is always on.

About the canteen. Let me tell you right off the bat: I'm not a picky person. They write that the food is tasteless, insipid, someone even remained hungry - well, you have to manage it! Remember that you are not in Turkey, that there is a much harsher climate, scorched earth, and you should not expect the same variety in terms of fruits / vegetables. There are a lot of different sauces, oils around, season it - it will become better. Salt if there is little or no salt at all. They serve meat, fish, chicken. Dinners during the week are generally different: Mediterranean, German, Oriental, etc. I found what I love - chickpeas (nohut - Azerbaijanis will understand, because there is no better snack for beer). Wine, beer, orange juice, water, cola, fanta, in the lobby bar and on the beaches there is alcohol and stronger, but we don’t drink much, so we weren’t interested in the assortment. Minus the canteen - be prepared for queues, we didn’t encounter at breakfast, but at lunch and dinner tables are looking for
Beaches, pools. There are several pools, but I didn’t swim in any of them - I didn’t come to hang out in bleach, but to enjoy the Red Sea. All the sand that you see, the sandy entrance to the sea - all this is artificial, before there were only corals around. Therefore, be vigilant - I would advise you to stock up on coral slippers in advance. I went without them myself, because I don’t know how to swim, I don’t climb into the depths, I didn’t go on reefs, and my husband bought one for himself when we were taken on a b / pl excursion to the city. In the hotel they seem to be 15, we bought for 8.
The sea is like fresh milk. Away from the main building, near the fifth building, an entrance to the sea has been cut through - you walk along the sand. Further - the lagoon and access to the open sea. Many do not even reach here and do not know that there is a beach with a normal entrance to the sea. In general, there are several lagoons on the territory of the hotel, beaches, respectively, too. In the info sheet they write that sunbeds cannot be reserved, but how many empty sunbeds I have seen with towels left, uniform disgusting! Therefore, sometimes you also have to look for sunbeds - a small unpleasant moment.
The number of injured people was shocking. The girl from our flight tore off her nail on the coral, rushing after her restless daughter, saw a man on crutches, people with bandaged legs. The Belgian couple is generally not climbing into any gates. She is allergic to the sun, at home she somehow survives on cortisone injections, and why did she suffer in the 40-degree heat in Egypt ?? ? Of course, angioedema began, the throat swelled up, suffocation began. Finally, a drip was placed.
My husband also scratched his fingers and toes on corals, so be very, very careful.

Now the most unpleasant thing is the story about our hotel guide. His name is Ahmed. The man is arrogant, rude and rude. True, when you put it in its place, it spreads like oil. Of course, he will tell you that it is dangerous to take excursions from the street. While still in Ukraine, I contacted the guide Mustafa via viber about a trip to Luxor - I found his body and reviews about him on Turpravda. Polite man, so waiting for us! But the husband decided to go to Luxor from a hotel guide - for $ 55 against Mustafa's $ 37. As a result, we were not taken to the declared temple of Hatshepsut, but the guide Sheriff, who accompanied us on this trip, skillfully shoved his own - silver jewelry, tea / coffee, etc. after the fact, I asked Mustafa if they were taking them to the temple of Hatshepsut. Yes, of course, he answered (Ahmed answered the same question that it was in a different program, but both he and the Sheriff said that they were taking both to the Temple of Hatshepsut and to the Valley of the Kings). We instead went to a banana island. Mustafa has it for a fee.
The trip itself is VERY exhausting. Our hotel is located in such a way that they took us the very first, they brought us the last. Waking up at 4 am and coming back at 11 pm is not for everyone. At the very end of the trip, in front of the alabaster factory, we arrived at the tombs. Sheriff behavior: free entry to three tombs, but they are the same, so go to one, turned around and left. there are a lot of some holes, entrances, we are already gone, the sun is scorching... Moreover, in this location, be careful: there are sharp stones on the ground, my husband cut his toe. So this Flash Tour doesn't even have a first aid kit on the bus! Here you have the service, insurance and other things. Well, at the alabaster factory they treated it with iodine and sealed it with a plaster. Therefore, I strongly advise you not to take tours from Ahmed!
The tour is certainly very interesting. You will see not only ancient Egyptian monuments, but also Egypt itself outside of all inclusive.
It’s better not to go with children under 10 years old (and generally those who get motion sickness) - they will get tired to the point of stupor and are unlikely to remember anything. With us was a mother with a child who was sick, sitting right behind us. He, of course, pulled out, all this puddle flowed to us, to our legs, shoes, bags. No one thought to clean it up, and she asked her friend for a bag only after what had happened. Although the guide could take it all in advance.
In general, we liked everything very much. I recommend this hotel. We were offered others, and we even saw some of them on the way to the tour. We realized that nothing was wrong.
That, perhaps, is all. I hope you are not too tired. Ask, I will answer all questions.
