03/16/2013 returned from Citadel Azur Sahl Hasheesh Grand Resort. We rested with a large company: 7 adults and 3 children (3.4 and 5 years old). In Egypt 7 times, in particular in Hurghada - the 2nd!
The trip was organized through the travel agency "Corsair Travel" (Donetsk), the tour operator was Pegas Touristik.
We have been eyeing this hotel for a long time and decided to take a trip. I was intrigued by the construction of the hotel and just a huge amount of positive reviews on the Internet!

The hotel is really beautiful. Everything is made of stone, designed in the same style. The territory is quite large, clean, well-groomed and moderately green. The hotel was built along the sea coast, and restaurants, cafes and places of entertainment are located in one wing and people living, for example, in buildings 5.6, 7, have to overcome a considerable distance several times a day, thanks to the wonderful landscapes - this does not bother at all! For those who do not want to walk, a free taf-taf bus runs around the hotel every 10 minutes. It should be noted that due to the location of the hotel "along the sea" - all rooms have a sea view and this is not a piece of the sea somewhere on the horizon, these are full-fledged terraces and balconies with a view of 1800 to the sea - in general it is beautiful!!!
The rooms are spacious and good quality. Since everything is made of stone, there is nothing to break, respectively. Each room has a window on the entire wall overlooking the sea. Speaking of windows, the bathroom also has a window, and although it is not on the entire wall, but living on the first floor will be 100% uncomfortable, unless of course they are not exhibitionists ; -)
TV with a couple of Russian and Ukrainian channels (the choice of Ukrainian ones surprised: "2 + 2" and some Lviv television channel). The rooms do have free internet, although the speed leaves much to be desired, but to receive mail or sit in the social. networks, I think it will work.
By the way, there is free wi-fi in the hotel lobby, the speed of which also leaves much to be desired, but calling home via Skype or, again, sending / receiving mail is enough.
There are several pools on the territory of the hotel, I was in 2, I saw another one, but it turned out to be unheated. There are no problems with places near the pools - since the people are mainly concentrated along the coast. And it makes no sense to take sunbeds on the beach - there is always space. In general, if it were not for the time of meals, one would get the impression that the hotel is half empty. Everyone is dispersed throughout the territory and no one interferes with anyone.
There are several fenced and equipped artificial lagoons with sea water. The idea is very interesting and well implemented. There is always a lot of people there, but again, there is no crush or flea market.
Breakfast and dinner are served in the main restaurant, lunch is served in the waterfront restaurant. There are also three A la carte restaurants, free admission to which is included in the price of accommodation: this is a fish restaurant, Brazilian and Italian. Let me tell you, I liked all three. The weakest is the fish restaurant, probably because the hotels also have a paid fish restaurant.

Speaking of restaurants, it's time to add a fly in the ointment to this barrel of honey. . . food at Citadel Azur is its only weak link. . .
The food is not that bad, no, it just does not correspond to the whole atmosphere that prevails in hotels! Everything edible, even almost everything tasty, we ate ourselves, fed the children - no one had problems with digestion. But the same choice of dishes can be found not only in any 5-ke, in some 4-ka they feed an order of magnitude more decently. You go into a restaurant for dinner, there is a sign at the entrance, for example, “French cuisine”, and tomorrow “Italian cuisine”, appropriate flags will be hung everywhere, the staff will put on some attribute in clothing (beret, cape, national shirt, etc. ) and that's all - this is where the difference of the dinner ends... A very (very, very) modest selection of fish dishes, not to mention other seafood.
I won’t continue, I’ll just summarize: if you don’t bother with food, don’t pay attention to the paragraph above, you won’t be hungry for sure. Picky eaters should not go there - so as not to write later about a ruined vacation.
Our company did not bother at meals, so everything suited us! But the fact remains - the hotel kitchen could be pulled up!
The hotel has its own marina, photos of which now and then slip through the Internet. You can take pictures on the background of yachts as much as you like! Yachts can be rented, the cost is $400-450, considering the cost of a trip per person is $40-60, it is easier to group with tourists on the beach and charter a yacht yourself than to travel in a crowd of 20 people.
Right next to the hotel there is an ATV base, the valiant employees of which harass tourists with their offers. The trip they offer costs $25 and consists of an hour circling around the area around the hotel, more specifically through garbage bins and landfills, and along the hostels where the hotel staff live. Basically, money thrown away. If there is a desire to ride ATVs, then these same comrades can buy a 3-hour trip to the desert on ATVs. It will cost $35 and it will be really interesting!!!

Service in bars and restaurants is normal: rudeness or extortion is not noticed. However, if you give the waiter or bartenders a dollar, the attention is amplified many times over.
Finally, I want to summarize that, in general, the hotel leaves ONLY pleasant impressions and memories. It's safe to say that I would definitely return to this hotel!
