We stayed at this hotel at the very end of December. Personally, I'm in Egypt for the fourth time, so there is something to compare.
The hotel area is not very big, but beautiful. Lots of flowers, garden shrubs and trees, and a few large ornamental cacti. In some places some kind of grass grows like our steppe feather grass, it is very beautiful. Lawns are carefully and timely monitored by specially trained people. There are no hotels to the right and left of Amwaj Blue Beach Resort yet, but they will probably appear soon. Most likely, this was one of the reasons that there was a very strong wind for almost the entire time of our stay at the hotel. So strong that it was simply impossible to swim in the sea and we spent almost all the time by the pool. The hotel has two swimming pools, one of which is heated. There is even a kind of jacuzzi with hot water, but the hotel staff is vigilant that individual irresponsible citizens who have not paid for the spa treatment package do not bathe in the jacuzzi.
We were given a good room, on the top floor, with a King Size bed and a sea view. This was partly due to the ten dollars left upon check-in. There were no swans from towels, but they cleaned the room every day, neatly laid out things, once they even helped find a lost earring. We, like normal, civilized people, leaving the room, left a dollar on the bed. True, the quality of cleaning up to five stars still does not hold out. A small but nice bonus is the presence of an electric kettle in the room (an iron and ironing board are also present) and all kinds of tea / coffee utensils. I want to say right away that All Inclusive coffee throughout the hotel is only instant. We have not tried the paid option, so I can not say anything. But several times they were treated to a variety of fresh juices in a special bar for two or three dollars. There are no free fresh juices in the hotel, packaged juices either. Wine, which can be taken in a restaurant or bar, does not stand up to criticism, but the beer is normal. Regular visitors to the hotel usually mix it with sprite, it's more interesting that way.

The main restaurant, which serves breakfast-lunch-dinner, is located on the second floor of the main building and is called the View Restaurant for some reason. Breakfast is usually continental, and dinner is trying to somehow diversify thematically. Always present: three or four different types of pasta, a whole sea of baked goods (strange, but almost always fresh), a variety of salads from what you didn’t eat yesterday, and just chopped fresh vegetables, pancakes for breakfast and a lot of sweets for lunch and dinner. Of the fruits, there were only green melon cut into small pieces in the literal and figurative sense, very tart persimmon, guava sliced into rings, sometimes oranges and dates. The main restaurant always has a wide range of vegetable dishes: cabbage, beans, eggplant, several types of potatoes cooked in different ways. Meat dishes are not so diverse: as a rule, it is goulash and something from chicken. Almost always there were several types of fish. There is only one frying surface, usually there was a queue for it. Pancakes were fried on it in the morning, and something meaty for lunch and dinner. Once it was a real, very juicy, shawarma, and several times a variety of cutlets. By the way, I highly recommend trying the national cutlet called kofta from two types of meat. Delicious.
There is no service in the restaurant, except that they set the tables and clean the dirty dishes. Drinks must also be brought by yourself. There are no napkins on the table, only one is allocated to each visitor. If you suddenly need additional ones, you also need to go yourself. There are basically no toothpicks. In Egypt, I rested in five-star hotels, but of the four Amwaj Blue Beach Resort, the first one in which it happened several times that people were not allowed into the restaurant due to lack of space. Usually on the last day of rest, my bracelet was not cut off, this hotel was also the first.
Aft of the main one, there are two more restaurants on the territory: Italian Restaurant and Bedouin Tent. Each can be visited free of charge by appointment once a week. Naturally, we signed up for both. As much as I liked the Bedouin restaurant, I also didn't like the Italian one. The service was extremely slow, we even wanted to get up and leave. The Englishmen sitting at the next table did not wait for some of the ordered dishes. The waiter simply throws a printed sheet on the table with the names of dishes in Italian and in some places translated into English, does not explain or advise anything. Wine is just vinegar. No seafood, despite seemingly Italian dishes, is on the menu.
There are many shops and small shops on the territory of Amwaj Blue Beach Resort, which are best avoided. If you suddenly want to see something and come closer, you will definitely be pulled inside and will be terribly offended if you do not buy anything or buy less than $ 50 for the price "only today" and "discount especially for you. " In different bars, different waiters offered us "business": a kilogram of mango for $10 or three bottles of local alcohol, which nobody wants, for the same price.

Special mention deserves, of course, the animation team of the hotel. During very bad weather or preparations for the celebration of Catholic Christmas, they were not seen or heard at all all day, and only in the evenings there was a traditional Kids Disco and some kind of animation for adults. When the wind calmed down a bit and it became possible to hold Aqua Gym in a heated pool, the animators began to walk around the territory and very unobtrusively call for bocho, volleyball and water polo. The hotel has a lot of animators and most come from Ukraine and Belarus.
The hotel beach is not very big compared to other hotels I have been to. There are only two Towel Stations throughout the hotel. Regular guests of the hotel do not return towels in the evening, but use them the next morning to take a sun lounger near the pool or on the beach, although this is prohibited by the hotel policy. Therefore, from time to time there were situations when there were not enough towels (they were not at any station). Almost all the sun loungers on the beach were occupied by seven in the morning, and those who wished could sit right on the sand. Free places near the pool usually ended by 9-10 am. For lovers of snorkeling (in our opinion, snorkeling) the hotel has a very long pontoon. Entry from the shore without special shoes is difficult.
In conclusion, a few words about our favorite tour operator. All these nine days, Anex Tour was invisibly with us. The organization of the tour is very clear, no complaints. Flights back and forth were not transferred, this is a rarity for charters. Air carrier company Utair Ukraine. Unlike the parent company, Utair Ukraine has not gone bankrupt and has its own, albeit small, air transport fleet. It should be noted that on the way back (from Egypt to Ukraine), the food was still more varied.
In general, we liked the rest. Amwaj Blue Beach Resort, even compared to Egyptian hotels, does not reach five-star service. Despite this, it may well be recommended for a relaxing family holiday. After all, the main thing for which we are going to Egypt in this difficult time is the sea and the sun, and this is there. And this is the main point.
