Last time we had a rest in a city hotel in the center and were very disappointed. The sea is not as clean as we were described, as there are many traces of the life of pleasure boats, the city itself is dirty, locals with a completely different mentality, we are not interested in shops, and there are no attractions except the promenade and mosque. So this time we decided to choose a hotel in Soma Bay, as the city is about forty kilometers, which means the sea is clean, only local staff, and most importantly, quiet and peaceful. We got to the hotel around noon, so we did not drag with the check-in, quickly gave the room, which in principle suited us, the bed is comfortable, air conditioning and plumbing in working order, well, maybe the furniture is not so new, but you can live. The beach is nearby, beautiful, sandy, well cared for, the entrance to the sea is convenient. Under the water there is something to see, though in the morning you are more likely to see interesting and large fish, such as moray eels or stingrays, so a mask is a must. Food is generally normal, you may not have much choice, but you will definitely not stay hungry. Breakfast is the most modest, but for lunch and dinner, for example, there is always meat, I would like maybe more fruit. Alcohol is all locally produced, in its pure form is not realistic to drink, but in cocktails even more or less. In the afternoon we did not go to the animation, as the heat makes itself felt and in general in the sun from one to four there is nothing to do. In the evening we tried to go to bed earlier to get to the beach earlier. The prices for all services and shops in the hotel are of course inflated, so try not to forget the example of sunscreen or bathing shoes. By the way, the Internet in the hotel is, but weak, I always flew constantly, so I advise you to buy a local SIM card at the airport. Vacationers were different, mostly Western Europeans, there were not many Russian-speaking people. The staff is different, there are very positive guys, there are those who immediately hint at tips, but in general more or less normal. So the hotel is perfect for a quiet, balanced holiday, this place is clearly not suitable for parties, as only other hotels and the desert are nearby.
