We rested at the Radisson SAS in mid-June.
Previously, we have repeatedly rested in Sharm, Hilton Fairows, Marriott and Holiday Inn, so there is an idea of u200bu200bgood hotels, there really is something to compare with.
Taboo was chosen because I wanted to diversify the geography of trips a little (at least within the same country), especially since we planned to go to Israel or Jordan (wherever possible), and from Taba it is much closer and easier. So, we chose the Radisson SAS hotel - the most secluded hotel from Tabov's five-star hotels. This seclusion subsequently backfired, but more on that later.

The journey around the country began with trouble - the suitcase did not want to accompany us to Egypt and brazenly flew to another country. We were not the only victims, another girl from our flight was left without things. A representative of Ural Airlines did not even come to us, they sent an airport employee who wrote down the details of our suitcases and promised to contact the airline. Representatives of Pegasus also promised to "keep us informed. " We went to the hotel with mobile phones and a video camera (without spare batteries and chargers! ) and a hairbrush. I had to make urgent purchases at the hotel (sun creams, swimwear, slippers) - in the only shop! Other shops are in other hotels, and the nearest one is 3-4 kilometers away. Here, anyway, there is no choice and the quality is vile, so also the prices skyrocketed when the seller realized that we had no choice - either to take ugly shorts from him, or to walk in jeans at +40. Due to public holidays, we ourselves could not contact the airline in our hometown, and the Pegasus representative stubbornly repeated - “yes, yes, we told everyone that your suitcase will be sent on the next flight”, then on the “next flight”, etc. in the end, we got through to the travel agency, where we bought a ticket, and found out that our suitcase was flying to Egypt, the plane would land in 4 hours! They demanded a transfer to the airport, to which they received an answer - "the luggage has not yet arrived, when it arrives - we will inform you and arrange a transfer. " It was the fifth day of our "rest". As a result, we boarded a bus that took tourists to the airport, told the transfer guide our story, and found our long-awaited suitcase at the airport ourselves. We were taken back by the same guide who took tourists to hotels. The days while looking for and forwarding luggage were simply crossed out from the rest. They didn't even apologize to us.
We arrived at the hotel around 6 am. At the reception we were told that the room was not yet ready and asked to wait. No money was invested in passports. Since, according to the rules of the hotel, check-in starts at 14.00, we prepared for a long wait. However, after 5-7 minutes, the receptionist approached us and handed us the key to the room and cards for towels. We were taken to our room in a small electric car. We got a wonderful sea view on the second line of buildings.
The hotel is 5 stars, but they got excited, and 4 pulls weakly. Although it is written that the year of construction is 2002, apparently, nothing has been updated in it since then. The rooms are large, but everywhere there is shabbiness. Towels are old and washed out. People often complain on the forums that they give the worst numbers to Russians. Nonsense, there are shabby chairs on all balconies, regardless of the nationality of the guest. There are coolers on all floors. In the room there is a kettle, tea and coffee, a safe, a refrigerator, shampoo-gels, a hairdryer, etc. Bathroom with shower, no bidet. We left a small amount of money for our attendants, incl. the room was always literally licked, constantly different compositions from the bedspreads on the bed.
The territory is quite compact, planned by a fan shell, three main lines converge to the reception and the pool. The rooms come in blocks of 5 buildings, almost all with sea views (buildings 1 and 2 of the first line also go to the main pool with an amphitheater, noisy day and night). There are two more lines of buildings behind the reception, a view from there to the desert (according to the development plan of the hotel - a bungalow zone) and go and go to the sea. The gardeners are armless, the territory is neglected, there is very little greenery, there are bald spots everywhere, there is practically no garden lighting. Huge bands of colored stones are piled up (design, damn it! ), Apparently, instead of constantly drying grass.

Without knowledge of English in this hotel is difficult. The staff does not speak languages! Yes, the bartender on the beach knows a couple of words in different languages, but just a couple and the bartender. Although it is very strange, because 70 percent of the guests are Ukrainians and Poles with Slovaks. The remaining 30 are Russians and Italians. The Germans and the British - piece by piece.
The hotel staff is slightly loose, there is a healthy indifference in the actions (for the "five" - unacceptable! ). The only employee who actually earned his salary was the janitor.
The all inclusive system in this hotel is funny. They wrote on the forum that everything is just like in Turkey - apparently, that head chef is no longer alive. The current one can only cook chicken. He got meat in two versions - with blood or sole. No intermediate options. And the fish - God, how can you, living by the sea, be so rude to the fish! True, in an English dinner, the fish is delicious, apparently imported from another restaurant. The sweet table is depressingly poor and tasteless. There are few fruits. There are basically no frets. Juices - traditional "Jupi" with a large amount of sugar, concentrate for "Fanta" is given out for orange, delicious packaged guava and mango are poured on the beach. For lunch and dinner there is ice cream, of medium quality, but in any quantity for everyone. Drinks - from 7 am to 11 pm, in the Coral bar at the reception. On the beach and in the pool, bars are open from 11 to 17. If you want earlier, run to the reception or drink water from the cooler (glasses are rare). Morning snacks on the beach and by the pool - from 11, a dozen half-eaten buns for breakfast, in the afternoon you can find a sausage sandwich and stewed beans. There is a coffee machine at the reception, but cups are not served until 11. Wine is packaged for lunch and dinner. Everywhere it is written that only one glass in hand and only in the building. They will give you any quantity, but they really won’t let you out of the restaurant with a glass! With us, elderly Italians wished to drink wine in the open air near the restaurant - they were returned from the threshold and demanded to drink inside.
The beach is large and sandy. Two lines of sunbeds under umbrellas, three - without umbrellas. Naturally, everyone wants under an umbrella. At 6 am from the balcony we saw a column of tourists, with towels overweight, moving at a brisk trot towards the beach. As it turned out, this is such a local way of "booking" good places. We decided to join - anyway, because of the time difference, we got up very early and drank coffee on the balcony before breakfast. The water's edge is littered with stones, you can't go barefoot to the water. There are two pontoons, both are not connected to the shore and do not have ladders, climbing them is a task for the strong and dexterous. At one end of the beach, the entrance to the water is lined with stone slabs, then cut into dead corals, very narrow, unsuitable for strong waves. At the other end of the beach, a wide sloping entrance was made - a strip was concreted and stones were removed. A strip of dead corals and stones stretches along the beach, there are practically no fish. Not far from the "paddling pool" there are small islands of live corals, quite beautiful. At low tide you can walk. Funny, I tell you, a spectacle - you swim with a mask, and your feet go by....On these corals you can see different fish, although not as diverse as in Sharm, mostly young. A whole flock of large parrots swims, according to our estimates - about a meter long. Barracuda juveniles are popular here, although they can be confused with flute fish, which are abundant here. At first we joyfully frolicked in a flock of young barracudas, and when we carefully examined the tail fins, and one more “smiled”....It's good that they are small, 40-60 centimeters.

Animators entertain by the pool, water aerobics and water polo, no one goes to exercise, sometimes they call for volleyball. In the Coral bar in the evening, a local bard sings past the notes. The disco takes place in the reception building. We didn’t go, after active swims we don’t have the strength to dance. Evening show takes place in the amphitheater, nothing interesting.
As a conclusion. The hotel does not correspond to the declared star rating at all, even with a discount on the fact that this is Egypt. The sea for snorkelers is very poor. Taba didn't impress us, we won't go again.
