Radisson Blu Resort Taba 5*
Rested with family (2 + son 10 years old) from 11/24 to 12/06/2010, tour operator - Pegasus, departure from Volgograd to Sharm, more - transfer to Taba. In Egypt, the 5th time (2 times in Hurghada (Coral Beach, Diamond - Golden 5) and 2 times in Sharm - (Amphoras and Sheraton)), there is something to compare. We are very satisfied with the hotel - from the meeting to the wires. Many thanks to the hotel manager - Taha Mansour. The staff is very polite and friendly. Would you like to return? Of course yes. Instead of a standard room, we were "punished" with a suite, not far from the reception. There are no comments on accommodation, everything was fine. The hotel is green, there is where to walk, day and night. Everything is done with taste (there is something to compare, the rating is excellent). We have no comments on nutrition, and there are no friends with whom we discussed. Multinational hotel - Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, France, Germany, Italy, USA. Many with children, including very young ones - I think this is also an indicator of the hotel.
Everyone can find what they are looking for from a vacation: spa treatments, volleyball, football, gym, tennis, billiards, swimming pools, beach, diving, corals, fish, turtles. Sharks were not seen, and they cannot be there - unlike Sharm, the beach is shallow at first, up to 3 m, and only at a distance (50-89 m), the sandy-grassy slope goes into the depths. Entry into the beach on the laid flooring, but still it is desirable for safety in slippers (many people were without shoes). Along the beach there is a small coral reef (somewhere from the middle of the beach and towards the dive center of the hotel). Gorgeous coral reefs are located at a distance of 30 meters from the shore at a depth of 3-5 meters. It is necessary to dive from the extreme left entrance to the sea (next to the hookah bar), and perpendicular to the sea. In the afternoon, divers were brought to our reefs from all over Taba, who dived to 6-12 m. Large turtles were also seen in the hookah area at a distance of 10-15 m from the beach, they have a pasture there. I took the SPK-CXA box for the HDR-CX350 camcorder with me - super. I shot both underwater video and photos. I just didn’t catch an octopus, which I saw repeatedly, and of course I didn’t see sharks!

The hotel has representatives of Red sea WaterWorld (dive center in Taba). There are no problems with diving. They will take you, bring you, teach you… I have PADI Advanced, after check-dive I took diving. The center has Russian and Russian-speaking instructors. My son completed the Scuba Diver course and is very pleased. It is noteworthy that for Pegasa customers - a 25% discount is essential. But since the box for the video camera is only up to 6 m, the main pictures were taken on the reefs of the hotel (remote by 30-50 m, it is desirable to have fins). Far? I don't believe even retirees have swum on remote reefs. Outer reefs are more preserved and richer in fish. Moray eels found 4 species. Probably everyone has seen corals, except for deep-sea ones. Turtles (a couple) were seen by me and captured in the photo and video after dinner. Adrenaline received in full. Even tried to chase, but without success.
The hotel has shops for the lazy and the rich, as elsewhere. Over the fence, again in the hookah area - the Bedouins sell 2 times cheaper. If you want SHOPPING, you need to go to Dahab (140 km). Pegasus offers for $20 ($10 for children). Moreover, when we turned to Micheal Tallat (one of the 3 Pegasus people in charge of the hotel), he told us that there was nothing to do there, the tour was bad... and did not help (the group was probably too small). Then we turned to the hotel manager - Taha Mansour, who organized a taxi for us ($ 140), which takes 15 people. We went 11, i. e. for 12$. We left at 2:00 pm and returned for dinner. We walked there for 3 hours, it was not enough. A large promenade, a sea of shops and restaurants, there was not enough time for restaurants. I recommend ordering a taxi through the hotel, picking up a group on the beach and driving. The next day, part of our group went on a safari with a stop in Dahab. They were brought to another "world trade center" and left for 1 hour - to which they were indignant and went to the "Dahab promenade" (foreigners also followed them). Why, then, gentlemen, Pegasus people are so trifling? Is it easier to count your baksheesh in one store? I am sure that PEGAS itself has nothing to do with it, and this is the business of its guides.
Excursions... a separate conversation. As with all hotels, tour operators have significant prices compared to local ones. But in order.
We were planning a family trip to Israel and Jordan (Petra). To the border with Israel - 25 km. from the hotel, to the port to Jordan - 5 minutes drive. Very convenient (to Sharm - 200 km from the hotel). Pegasus offered excursions to Jerusalem + the Dead Sea for $190 ($155 for children), Petra - $270/240. We went respectively to Israel for $100/90 and to Petra - $220/190. Very pleased. We contacted by phone (previously received from friends who had previously traveled), ordered an excursion, date and number of people. They came to the reception, took it away, then also brought it back. Everything was great, the buses are comfortable, the guides are super: both in Israel and in Jordan. Special thanks to Hirzallah Husam (Jordan) for the tour, which prepared a section of the book on Petra, which many have seen and probably purchased. Moreover, they said that when they got to Jordan by ferry (it takes about 40 minutes, comfortable), all tourists were divided by nationality and seated on buses. As a result, $270 Pegasus sat with those who paid $190-220, what was it like for them? Next time we will probably go on a comprehensive tour - Israel-Petra, with an overnight stay in Akoba. Those who traveled highly praised shopping in Akoba (free economic zone), and even more time - and the price of the Sinai tour is $ 320 (for Pegasus - $ 420). There are no problems when returning home from Egypt. Visas to Israel and Jordan were not paid, and the Ukrainians and Belarusians, who were frightened by the Pegasus people, also did not pay. It seems to me that Pegasus needs to compete for tourists in other ways, in the sense of sightseers. Yes, a stay in a hotel from Pegasus cost us 20 thousand cheaper than from other tour operators, well done. But the cost of excursion programs is significantly overestimated. Moreover, they give complete misinformation, incorrectly intimidate Russian tourists (in relation to insurance, visas, etc. ). Maybe 10 years ago this was justified, but now Egypt is different, and Egyptian companies also value their reputation, and I think they deserve it. Everyone who traveled with us found excursions on the Internet in advance, and agreed. PEGAS (and other tour operators) - rebuild, and everything will be OK!

Once again, I would like to thank the manager of the Radisson Blu Resort Taba - Taha Mansour for the rest. Thank you for the pompous birthday wishes for my wife and son. Son, after a festive ritual procedure of congratulations was held at an evening dinner in a restaurant, he said, now I have a real birthday!
Much more could be said, and mostly good. There will be questions, I’m happy to answer (I didn’t tell about the mountain of Moses - on which my wife and I have already been 3 times, and my son - the second).
Sergey.
