We rested in the Taba Heights area (Marriott Beach Resort 5 * hotel) from March 4 for two weeks. The hotel was practically empty, mostly tourists from Belgium, France, Germany, a little from Georgia and locals, and, accordingly, Ukrainians. There were no Russian tourists in Taba in any of the 5 hotels. The rest of the hotels were also loaded with tourists by 15-20%.
Positive:
A flight from Kyiv with the Pegasus tour operator to Taba on a new Boeing takes a little more than 3 hours, further to the hotel 35-40 minutes. In a word, it is very convenient and fast in comparison with a trip through Sharm El Sheikh.

Posted in two or three minutes. The luggage was delivered by electric car to the room in a few minutes. The staff is super friendly (mostly they know Russian and English), within a week they began to say hello in Ukrainian and wish “savory” in the restaurant! Everything is clean and tidy on the territory and in the room, the linen is changed on demand, it is enough to put a special card on the bed, and leave the towels on the floor.
Food: excellent quality and preparation, always in abundance including daily meat, chicken and fish, lots of fresh salads, vegetables and sweets. For us, even the HB diet turned out to be redundant - we gained a couple of kilograms.
There are free open buses between the hotels from 9 am to 10 pm. Two stops away, there is a market on the territory of the Three Corners hotel, there is also a small supermarket with prices 2-3 times lower than on the territory of the hotel. If you didn’t have time to buy or you ran out of drinks from the “duty free”, it doesn’t matter - there is the right store on the market and everything is there!
The hotel has a SPA complex with free sauna, Russian bath, jacuzzi and gym. But for a massage you have to pay ...
Every day the restaurant hosts various show programs (Egyptian dances, belly dances, spin dance with skirts… and performers sing).

Negative: 1.
Guide Ahmed from the tour operator Pegas does not own the situation and the main task for him is to give you a tour at a price that is much higher than the real one and this will not guarantee you that it will take place! (Those who came for a week and gave him money for a trip to the Pyramids on the penultimate day found out that the trip was canceled (as it turned out, he simply did not get a group), and there was no possibility to re-order). 2. Ahmed will require you to write a written statement that you want to go on an excursion there ...and if you do not want to go with them or have not decided yet, he will still force you to write a statement (he will call and send notes room) that the tour operator is not responsible for you! 3. Ahmed will shamelessly lie to you that ferries do not go to Jordan and for this reason Pegasus does not organize tours (in fact, the ferries ran smoothly even at the height of the revolution! ). 4.

Ahmed will intimidate you that when you leave Egypt with another travel agency, you will not be allowed back, or at least you will have to pay a re-entry visa to Egypt (this is generally complete nonsense).
5. Friends who were traveling with us from the nearby Sofitel hotel ordered travel rations and thus the “tour operator representative” became aware of their trip, as a result they were tricked into getting into the car a few minutes before the arrival of the tour bus to ride and then return thus disrupting the trip. We in our hotel (Merriot), having read the Internet tips in advance, did not dare to order rations, and just in case we warned only our acquaintances about the departure.
6. Watch your kids! ! ! - there was an accident (a severe burn of the arm, chest and abdomen in a child of 10-11 years old). The restaurant has food trays that are electrically heated. This baking sheet was set with sweets.
The child did not hold the lid of the tray, and from a strong blow, boiling water from the lower inner part of the baking sheet splashed out ...the adult would have had time to jump away, but the child was frightened and even tried to hold the baking sheet, which greatly increased the injury. Do not allow children to collect their own food! ! !
