Hello!
On their next trip to Egypt, they decided to stop in Taba in order to visit Jerusalem and Petra, this was a priority, and then a beach holiday.
After a short search for hotels, we decided to stay at Marriott according to the criteria: reviews, price, photos, and were not disappointed. The 3-hour road from Sharm to Taba was a little tense, but they knew what they were going for. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a non-alcoholic cocktail and wet towels, decorated and delivered to the room in 10 minutes. Of course, they settled us in the farthest building, the rooms with which start from 800 (the smaller the number, the closer to the sea), but even there, from the second floor, you can see the whole hotel and the sea, it was too lazy to go to change, although such a proposal was made by the administrator (by the way, Russian-speaking) at resettlement, and as it turned out later to walk to the restaurant and the beach is not so far 3-5 minutes.

The rooms are of course modest without frills, but I was fine, the main thing was a huge bed with a soft mattress and air pillows, which delighted my wife.
The hotel itself is located away from populated areas, in a large closed area TABA Heights, where four 5-star hotels INTERCONTINENTAL, MARRIOTT, SOFITEL, HYATT are located on the first line, then there are golf courses, and behind them are shops, restaurants, discos, casinos, 4-ka hotel and it also looks like private bungalows. In between, everyone runs free buses, you can safely walk around all this territory, everyone is friendly to you, they don’t drag you into shops by the hand, they don’t pester you with a request to buy some crap, many understand Russian, but they still speak badly, the last about the hotel itself. What surprised the hotel was half full, or even a third, because there were no problems with places on the beach, by the pool and in the restaurant!
Among the contingent, there are mainly Europeans, in what ratio I did not look closely, Russians with Ukrainians and Belarusians somewhere around 20%.
The territory of the hotel is very green, many bushes and trees were planted, something was constantly blooming and smelled delicious. The staff is very friendly, if you go and look at someone, they will definitely greet you, I didn’t particularly notice any dissatisfied faces, they almost always did everything with a smile, it happened, of course, that the bartender didn’t serve quickly, but these are trifles.
About the restaurant, some write that they are not satisfied with the quality and variety of food, well, then I don’t know at all what then they eat at home that they didn’t like here, probably in good restaurants every day, since what I saw these some were unhappy with , probably just snickering.

Every day for lunch and dinner, several types of meat, including young veal and lamb, boiled steamed and grilled, several types of fish, turkey, stuffed quail, not to mention the variety of side dishes. Sweets in general from a dozen different types, from fruits there were always apples, pears, oranges, grapefruit, dates, bananas. Watermelon, melon, guava every other day, I don’t remember what else is exotic, probably only strawberries with cream were missing! Drinks are standard sodas (Coca-Cola, Sprite), coffee from a coffee machine, cocoa in the morning and delicious packaged juices. On the beach, the bar was open from 10-00 to 18-00, they gave their local spirits, canned beer of 2 varieties, a lot of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, and the same juices and soda.
I especially liked the Tequila Sunrise cocktail, there is some ice at the bottom, then raspberry syrup, orange juice is carefully poured, then guava juice and tequila on top, when the bartender is in no hurry, it turns out beautifully 4 layers, well, very tasty. There is no animation at all, including for children, so the kids were bored, they gathered in companies and entertained themselves, little interfering with adults.
In the evening, live music played near the restaurant, concerts and entertainment shows were held, but all this until 23-00, then everything died down and the hotel plunged into a sleepy kingdom. There were sometimes discos in the restaurant, but they were attended by 10-15 people no more, so who needs Tusa, then you are clearly not here.
The beach is large sandy, only at the very edge of the sea there are stones, but if you pass them, the sand begins again 100m to dead corals, near which many small fish live.
Those who want to look at a more diverse marine fauna will have to walk about 500m to Hayat (the second pier from Mariot), they have two turtles living there, I saw one (shell about 1.5 meters), I also saw squid and octopus, well, the fish are much larger and more diverse, but you need to sail away from the pier.
And finally, about Israel and Jordan, to go there one day at a time, only to irritate the soul, the road takes more time, and then everything is running and running to see as much as possible, you do not have time to feel the spirit of those times. Therefore, if you have the strength, it’s better to go to Israel for two days (unfortunately there are no 2-day excursions to Petra), I regretted that I didn’t do this, but there will be an incentive to return separately to Jerusalem for 3-4 days, maybe even a savage. I took excursions here http://redsea. kiev.

ua contacted in advance via Skype and discussed everything, Ibrahim speaks tolerably Russian and knows his business, in the evening we settled in, in the morning he calls me himself, having somehow found out the room number, he asks how they got there, if they changed their minds about going. Not only me, many of the hotel went with him, everyone was satisfied and advised newcomers. In principle, the task of the locals is to agree with the host country, collect money at the beginning of the tour, take you to the border, stick a sticker with the logo of the host (we had Apple tours) and send you to cross the border on foot, and on the other side you will be identified by this sticker and put in bus depending on the type of excursion their partners are from Israel or Jordan.
And don’t enter into the Tour Operator’s divorce that they will leave you there, won’t let you out or won’t let you in, won’t feed you or will extort money, all this is utter nonsense, we had everything perfectly organized, fed and didn’t take a penny extra money beyond what we agreed.
This is a long review, I hope it's helpful.
Happy holidays everyone! ! !
