The hotel was a bit of a disappointment. Despite the name, it is much inferior to the Sofitel hotel chain, both in Egypt and in other countries of the world. Although Taba itself is located 300 km from Sharm El Sheikh, it takes 3.5-4 hours to travel by minibus from the airport to the hotel. The road was very exhausting, after a four-hour flight, shaking on a small bus to the hotel, frequent checkpoints with checks - a rare pleasure. We chose Taba for a trip to Israel and Jordan and lost. Tourists from Sharm go there on large buses, which shake less, and with a toilet, and the transfer from the hotel to Taba is carried out by minibuses, as it turned out. After all this road, which is very picturesque in places, to tell the truth, we had to wait another hour for check-in, since it does not start at the hotel until 15:00. At the same time, we were taken to a restaurant, where we could still have lunch. Despite the fact that we were hungry, it was the restaurant that caused a big disappointment. The choice was small, the food is extremely insipid, in the end we ate french fries with chicken shawarma. All our further rest was spent in search of something tasty, but even the pastries were very monotonous. The chef didn't bother with a variety of dishes. In addition, in Taba, as it turned out, there is simply nowhere to eat except in a hotel. We really liked the room. As far as we understood, almost all rooms have a sea view, direct or side. We had a room overlooking the large pool and the sea. The landscape is just fabulous. Taboo should be chosen just for the sake of it, it lifts the mood perfectly. The room had a huge double bed, which, if desired, could accommodate 5 people. The furniture is decent, a large closet. Everything in the bathroom is sparkling clean. The cleaner is very polite, in the hallway always asked if we needed anything else. He cleaned up in our absence, did not build unnecessary swans and crocodiles, sometimes brought fresh flowers in a vase. A trifle, but nice. The linen and towels are white, everything was up to standard. I also liked the territory of the hotel, there were many pools, there was one with sea water. We rarely swam in the pools, only when we went from lunch to freshen up. . Most foreigners and Arabs preferred the pools. The sea was clean, the slippers that they brought with them on the advice of a travel agent were not useful, they used a pontoon. There are no corals especially, only if you row to the left, but we saw a lot of large fish, a turtle, a stingray, a Napoleon, a lionfish. The beach is spacious, with plenty of space. The animation in the hotel is very moderate, we noticed that children's animation was more liked by children than adult animation by adults. Drinks at the hotel are not bad, especially beer, wine is a little worse, juices from packages, soda can be mixed with strong drinks, it is also quite digestible. The hotel catches wi-fi, you can even call relatives by viber or book an excursion to Israel-Jordan on the Internet, which we did at Sharm-land. Everything went great. The guide Michael turned the stay in Israel into something amazing, he is simply a professional in his field. Petra was also impressed. We do not plan to return to Taba, unless the plane will also fly to Taba. Sofitel does not live up to its name, unfortunately, mainly because of the food.
