My mother and I decided to go to Taba and at first we wanted to go to the Intercontinental. But there were no more flights, so they offered us Sofitel.
We were seated immediately upon arrival. We took a standard room (no sea view), but there is such an architecture of buildings that, in principle, all rooms look at the sea. Just in front of us was a swimming pool, a garden and a building that directly overlooked the sea.
They gave us a room on the 1st floor and it was very convenient, since the room could be entered both through the main door and through the balcony / terrace.
The staff is very friendly, unobtrusive, trained. Even if someone tried to flirt, then all this was tracked down and reported to the authorities. Further, it could come to dismissal.
The food in the restaurant was good and plentiful. The fruits, however, were not very good. But judging by other reviews of different hotels, this is the case everywhere in Egypt.

And again, the problem with the service in the restaurant. As always, the waiters do not have time to serve, sometimes there were not enough places, so we even had to wait. Better to come early.
In the evening, sometimes you would like to dine outdoors, but if you stay a little longer for dinner, then the waiters no longer want to serve you outdoors, but drive you inside the restaurant. One time their manager saw this and quickly ordered them to set us a table outside.
The animation there is standard: aqua aerobics, volleyball, yoga, belly dance, etc. In the evenings there was a type of disco, but almost no one danced there. We were also lucky - during our stay the hotel booked a musical group from Cairo. Young guys sang and played "live" every evening near the pool. But it only lasted 10 days. On Fridays, dance groups are ordered, and on Thursdays in the Sultana-bar karaoke. Sometimes the animators and their general manager put on a show in the middle of the week. Very funny too : )
The beach is very good: large, spacious, sandy sunset, there is pantone and good corals. But the sun loungers are almost all occupied at 8 am.
At the time of our stay, they did not have Russian-speaking staff. Usually they hire several girls. And then, as luck would have it, there was a conflict with a Russian group of tourists who were collecting corals (this is strictly prohibited). And to my surprise in the whole hotel I was the only one who can translate from English into Russian. In general, it took me half a day to resolve their conflict....
The contingent of vacationers consisted of old people of 60-70 years old, mainly from France and Britain. Because of this, it was boring. But still managed to meet interesting people.
In general, the hotel is very good. I recommend everyone to visit. In addition, they have a good manager - the Frenchman Olivier - they say he is full of new ideas and constantly improves the territory and comfort.
