In fairness, I note that in the standard rooms where our friends settled (we went in a big group), there were no such problems))) And besides the air conditioning, we took everything with humor. True, a week later the engineer got tired of visiting us and, having performed a miracle, he somehow "fixed" the air conditioner, as a result of which it turned into a fan))))
also an interesting point. According to our friends in Moscow, for a room with a sea view, they asked for 200 bucks on top. The guys did not believe and gave 20 at the reception. The room was with a sea view. Only Sofitel is planned and located in such a way that it looks like absolutely all the rooms are with a sea view)))))) But this situation may change, since a second building is being built there - behind the first one, so it’s probably not very pleasant to get into it will be - further from the sea, and the first building will close the view.
Food.
Normal food. There are few, very few fruits (green tomatoes, green bananas, green melons . . ) yes, everything is green there, except for guava, which is not tasty in itself))) For lunch and dinner, there are only 3 types of fruit. There is little salt, and what is there is not a fountain (for me it was critical). Soups are quite good, one for lunch, two for dinner to choose from. There are no juices as such, there are nectars, slightly diluted, it seems, but you can drink it))) cola, sprite, fanta - it's all there. For breakfast, still cold hibiscus.
Alcohol seems to be local. Beer is quite drinkable, wine... well, I don’t know what to compare with, probably packaged all that. We were in Paris three months ago, so it's hard for me to comment on Egyptian wine.

Cocktails... here the problem is not in the cocktail, but in the bartender, who strives to add not all the ingredients to the cocktail, you need an eye and an eye.
I liked the breakfasts the most. There was everything I like: coffee (well... what is it), eggs - even boiled, even fried, even scrambled eggs (fried to order, with whatever you want), tomatoes stewed with cheese (especially well stewed by the end of breakfast, when they are not snapped up too quickly))), pancakes with various sweet sauces, toast, cheese, butter, a lot of all sorts of cakes, muffins and fruit salads. Well, for lovers, there were some kind of cereals, cereals, cottage cheese, etc. The child groaned at porridge))) Yes, I don’t recommend skipping breakfast until 10.30, because brunch is coffee and a couple of stale rolls)))))))
lunch - normal tasty lunches. Of all the dishes, you can always choose something to your liking. They cook meat very well, good chicken. Fish sometimes not too much. Garnishes are also from time to time (tastes are different for everyone). It’s a little tight with salads, our ideas about salads are too different in principle)
Dinner is about the same as lunch, only on Friday-Saturday they have a barbecue (here you need to carefully choose a table, away from smoke)))
From 12 to 17, in addition to the usual meals, near the pool you can take a small cake, such as pizza or pasta. Ice cream is free and delicious. 4 types: vanilla, strawberry (similar to our sherbet)), chocolate and mango.
Entertainment.
Well, the main entertainment is the sea and the underwater world. Masks, snorkels, flippers can be bought at the hotel, but it is better to bring them from Moscow, because. something strange is happening with prices there - they jump completely unmotivated))))

The price is the same, but a lot of explanations at the reception about the time, the bus and getting the disk with our video. The last one was absolutely terrible. I don’t understand why they were brainwashing us, but the swearing was there for a week and we were already completely exhausted. The Arabs smiled and kept saying "tomorrow", "In 2 hours", "when the bus arrives", etc. If it were not for Lela (many thanks to her), who made this freak jump up with a disk in his teeth in 5 minutes, I don’t know if we would have received the disk. Only now, when we were driving back, already beyond the Egyptian border, we waited until we set off for about an hour. That was hard. We left at 2:30 am and returned at 3:00 the next night. They crossed the border twice (it was especially difficult, of course, to get into Israel). I was pleased with the Jewish mass-entertainer at the border, who condensed the line at the customs counters. control and shouted to everyone "smile! ", "Good morning! " and something like "don't crowd"))))))) Yes, from the side of the Egyptian border, a customs cat tried not to let us out without a bribe, and there are no sausages in Sofitel breakfast cereals . . only dry rolls and green bananas. Minus Sofitel, other hotels had better breakfast. Israeli Arabs are hard. It’s very hard, don’t leave men, these bastards grab hands just like that, pull and promise the joys of family life)))). The Egyptian ones are not so intrusive.
So, I will summarize. Holidays in Taba are not a place for parties. Basically, this is a family vacation and vacation for calm people. There is nowhere to go outside the hotel. You can go to another hotel (once every 30 minutes a free bus runs between hotels), in other hotels there are more souvenir shops.
Sofitel's advantages:
- nice rooms, all with sea view!
- 6 pools (one near the gym, very secluded).
