We have been in Egypt for many years and sometimes three times a year. We went to Taba for the first time and there was a fear that February was the coldest month. There was a risk that if we were not lucky, we would sit dressed on the shore, but.... we were lucky out of 12 cloudy days there were 3. and 2 of them we traveled on excursions to Jerusalem and to the monastery of St. Catherine. Just great tours. My husband forbade me to take risks and we went for "expensive" from Pegasus, although we could go 2 times cheaper. But everything was redeemed by our wonderful guide in Jerusalem. (I was in Jerusalem before) So he gave us so much interesting information that those who traveled "for cheap" listened to us with their mouths open. So we have no regrets. And Taba herself just really liked her unusual location. Hotels stand on the shore covered by mountains from the winds. There is nothing to do in Taba itself. We left the hotel only for nuts to the store, which is almost on the very border with Israel, about 250 meters from our hotel. There were people who just crossed the border to Israel in the morning, took a taxi for 10 dollars. and went to Jordan, and then also returned to the hotel for dinner. The hotel itself, although 5 *, but only very good spacious rooms with excellent plumbing are pulling 5 *. Food is much better at 4 * (I'm talking about Egypt. I didn't like that the waiter pours coffee and tea from teapots and if the coffee is somewhat tolerable in quality, then tea is generally slop infused with tea dust bags. Is it really impossible to put a tank of boiling water and put tea bags! Well, this is the only minus of the hotel. Everything else is fine. The bar on the beach is only open from 11:00 am. (Maybe only in winter? ) we already went to dinner and didn’t come back. The room was with a gorgeous view of the sea, although the ticket was standard. The hotel was no more than 50% full. There were only Russians, Ukrainians, Poles and Arabs. I heard French and Italian a couple of times If possible, I will definitely go to Taba again and probably again to Movenpick. On the border there are only 2 Hilton and Movenpick hotels, to Intercontinental, Sofitel, Hyatt and others, half an hour by car to go towards Taba. Now I advise everyone to winter holidays in Taba and if you go somewhere it's better to Movenpick.
