My choice of a hotel during a trip to Egypt fell on Movenpick Resort Taba 5 * not by chance. The main purpose of the 5-day trip to Egypt was an excursion to Israel and Jordan and I wanted to settle closer to the border. On the spot, it turned out that there was nowhere closer - barbed wire was already visible behind the neighboring Hilton hotel, which indicated the beginning of the border zone.

The hotel itself is located in the border area, which has a number of advantages for tourists - when crossing the Israeli border, keeping a special ticket, you can walk to Israel every next day. But do not forget that for this pleasure you will be charged 105 local Egyptian pounds upon leaving the hotel. This fee is called customs duty and is paid by everyone who has ever crossed the border with Israel. This does not apply to all other excursions.

Of the significant disadvantages, perhaps I will note one - Taba is located about 3 hours from Sharm El Sheikh Airport.

But given the current situation in Egypt, you can get much longer. This is due to the presence of a police car, which must necessarily accompany each tourist bus and which this bus has to wait for at each new post. I traveled as much as 6 hours, arriving at the hotel late in the evening and wasting the whole day on the road. By the way, the road is straight, winding in places, there is a small serpentine and broken sections. But overall good.

The mountains of Taba give the hotel an undoubted advantage - the wind is felt less here. However, this does not mean that it is not here at all. The hotel is moderately green, with stavochki, beefy white ducks, several pools (one of which is heated indoors), spacious grounds, a children's area and a good beach. The beach is spacious, and given the number of sun loungers on the green area and near the pool, it can accommodate everyone who wants to sunbathe.
I didn’t manage to swim - I have high requirements for water temperature, plus it was windy, but I can say that the entry into the sea is gentle, tourists came without slippers, I didn’t see corals from the shore. The beach is sandy with pebble strips. And a very beautiful sunset, when the sun's rays illuminate the territory of the hotel in a special way, touching the mountain peaks ...

I was given a room with a view of the sea, pools and rates. Not surprisingly, such rooms were still available during the low season. I paid $10 for it. No one asked me to do this, but they hinted at gratitude for the present. In general, the reception here is on the level. Several times I asked to call the local Egyptian number - they dialed, the lock in my room broke - they fixed it. When I was in front of a clearly boorish attitude, the tourists smiled professionally and apologized. A trifle, but nice.
In general, Egyptian men, as elsewhere in Egypt, cannot deprive our girls of attention - and, unfortunately, it is intrusive here, as in other hotels. Well, the audience is different. There are many Russians, foreigners and even Arab families, which speaks of the level of the hotel.

More about the room. Spacious, comfortable. There is some scuff marks here and there, but not much. The presence of a safe, a refrigerator, an empty bar ...Hairdryer, glasses and everything that is supposed to be a classic "five" except for a bathrobe and white slippers. Personally, I did without them ...The plumbing is in good condition, air conditioning, TV, everything works. One Russian channel, if it's important to someone. They clean every day, to my weak attempts to object today not to clean - they asked me to go into the room to change the towel and put bottles of water. All right, and that's it. True, they are in no hurry to make swans from towels - but I also experienced this.
Nutrition.
As a fan of classic European cuisine, it is difficult for me to rate the level of food in the hotel. But I can say with confidence that it is rather above average. Delicious pastries, fresh fruits. Meat, fish, chicken. Well, everything that was supposed to be was also present.

And again, for lovers of dancing there was some kind of animation, where young men with African-American appearance were constantly invited in the evening hours. I didn't go, so I can't judge.

In general - a hotel for a quiet lazy holiday. The absence of loud music, fuss, shopping and entertainment makes it look like a quiet island in the noisy life of vacationers. For families, the elderly, tired of constant movement - just right. Well, ideal for excursions to Israel and Jordan.
