Why not a single disappointment - because we knew where we were going and what we would see - we very painstakingly selected a hotel throughout Egypt using this site and tourist reviews on other sites.
My wife and I went to the Intercontinental in October. It is impossible to describe all the impressions - there are a lot, if only due to the fact that they visited Egypt for the first time and went to Israel for the first time, but there was something to compare with, therefore I consider my assessments quite objective. For a very long time we selected a hotel based on reviews, including on this site. We chose Taba because we wanted to go to Israel and because the beaches here are mostly sandy, although there is an opportunity to see corals. Further points:
- the hotel as a whole is very good. Brand new, well maintained, everything works, nothing is broken (at least we haven't seen it), many cozy and romantic places;

- Nutrition score of 4 - lowered due to diarrhea and bad fruit. But still, the food is varied based on the week: we were 8 days old, and for the last 2 days we didn’t want to eat anything from the offered assortment. AWESOME BAKERY. Everything is there: fish and meat and seafood and fresh fruit, bad fruits - green, not tasty, not varied. In AI, a free barbecue on the beach is just SUPER - we hung out there every day.
- the service is excellent - Turkey is resting. Very friendly staff, excellent cleaning of the rooms. Upon arrival, we were waiting for dinner in the room and cocktails in the lobby. The manager is just kindness. It is highly desirable to know English.
- the hotel is not in Taba, but in a village 30 minutes drive from Taba called Taba Heights. This village combines a number of hotels: Sofitel, Hyatt, Mariot, 3 Corners and Intercontinental. So you can use the beaches, shops and pools of all these hotels. We went around everything and realized that the Intercontinental is super. But you need to go to Sofitel to see corals - there are more, although our hotel is full of fish.
- The room is amazing: large and comfortable. Wonderful mosaic shower. Spacious balcony with upholstered furniture. Huge bed. White bathrobes and slippers; excellent cosmetics;
- a lot of well-groomed greenery on the territory of the hotel;
- we knew there wasn't a lot of animation. And it's wonderful - very calm and comfortable. There is a wonderful local ensemble - 3 men play and sing - very nice and beautiful. This was enough for us.
- we chose a stunning bar on the beach called "Reef Bar" - we spent every evening in it, plunging into relaxation.
- a beautiful fresh pool without the smell of bleach.
- pleasant surprises: free Nestle ice cream; free barbecues on the beach; fresh for breakfast; daily change of towels in the room; almost no Russians;
- unpleasant surprises: diarrhea, as we did not protect ourselves from it and did not select a diet (we concluded that this was due to the water with which they wash vegetables and fruits);
- about tips: we came up with the idea of leaving 2 Egyptian pounds everywhere, and we were loved for it. 1 dollar = 5 pounds (exchange directly at the hotel). It turned out beautifully and economically. By the way, Russian rubles in Egypt cannot be changed anywhere, but it is easy to exchange with a tour operator's guide, as we did.

- the tour operator's guide was always present at the hotel - very convenient.
RESULT: we are delighted! ; we strongly recommend this hotel; would like to go there again at least once; close to Israel - convenient for excursions; try to pick up a flight to Taba, and not to Sharm, because the road from the airport to the hotel eats up 4 hours one way;
