We met New Year 2009 in Sonesta. We were pleasantly surprised by the hot weather. on the last new year froze in Hurghada.
The hotel as a whole is normal, spacious rooms, good area.
A huge plus of Taba is its location in the bay, the mountains are closed from the desert, on the other side of the bay - the mountains of Jordan are closed from the wind. so there was almost no wind, it was warm all the time. and one day it was under +30, so we sunbathed and even swam.
Minus - terrible food and disgusting "canteen". Monotony (rice all the time + strange fish + meat), instant drinks + water, tea only for breakfast. Last days went to the Italian restaurant - not much difference, but better nonetheless.
The New Year celebration was good, with entertainment and interesting food.
In Taba, there is NO duty-free service for either arrival or departure, so tarry in Kyiv.
