My Britain: Part 2 - Finance
How much does this pleasure cost?
Here is a detailed description of expenses, with the exception of food (everyone is different), buying souvenirs, clothes and other small things:
- visa 910 UAH. + 50 UAH. (delivery of documents to your home), I do not include the cost of translating documents, since I did them myself;
- air a / c Aerosvit (action, poor, but clean) 155 dollars (1300 UAH);
- London Pass for 3 days (includes free (sometimes without a queue) entrance to a number of museums, exhibitions, galleries and just interesting places) at a promotional price via the Internet 65 pounds (845 UAH)
- Easybus transfer from Gatwick, bought not quite in advance (round trip) 12 pounds (156 UAH)
- bus ticket London - Glasgow - London by Megabus, purchased online, 39 pounds (507 UAH)
- London Oyster weekly pass (3 zones) 32 pounds: includes 5 pounds - deposit for the card itself (416 UAH)
- accommodation in apartments (2 bedrooms for 4 people) 150 pounds / 1 person. for 6 nights (1950 UAH)
- bus ticket London-Oxford-London, bought from the driver, 16 pounds (208 UAH)
- bus ticket London-Oxford-London, bought the next day on the site, 14 pounds (182 UAH)
- bus ticket Glasgow-Edinburgh-Glasgow - 10 pounds (130 UAH)
- overnight in an apartment in Edinburgh - 20 pounds / 1 person.
- Luggage storage for things: Glasgow - 6 pounds (78 UAH), Edinburgh - 7 pounds (91 UAH)
Food prices are not much higher than in Ukraine (although people in Britain earn more). Bread - 1 pound, sausage - 2-3 pounds, cheese -3, pasta - 0.70, juice - 1.4, water - from 1 to 3. In general, for 16-20 pounds we bought all sorts of goodies for 4 people. The same thing that we have to go to the store and buy for 300 UAH. I will add that they brought oatmeal for breakfast with them, as well as instant rice, Moscow sausage (they brought it, although this product is forbidden to be imported) and, of course, vodka-cognac in an amount slightly exceeding the norm.
Tender point: toilets. Many, some free, some paid. In paid pass through the turnstile. Usually the cost is 20 or 30 pence, but was met at 50.
For such cases, do not throw a trifle, it may still come in handy. Many have changers, but they accept 1 and 2 pound coins.
Souvenirs: from 2 pounds for a magnet, 3 pounds for a keychain, tea in a souvenir box from 4 pounds, Big Ben figurine - from 5 pounds, etc. Basically, stores offer to buy from 2 or more units, while doing discount.
It's better to buy bus tickets online, it's cheaper, but when you buy from the driver, you have the right to choose exactly what time to go. And-no ticket - gives the right to travel only at a specified time.
I will not describe clothes, shoes, bags. I bought, but this is a personal matter for everyone.
