We went on our own, that is, we did not have any excursion tour. A colleague and friend of my husband took us to London, he studied for several years in England. If you plan to travel on your own, I advise you to spend more than one week studying all the features of transport, suggestions on how you can save money, how best to move, in which hotel to stay. The country is not cheap, I would say that it is not even very cheap. And only thanks to our friend we spent less money than if we were driving just on our own.
If you want to see the sights, you will need to run around to catch everything. By the end of the day, our legs just gave way and literally buzzed.
In general, Londoners move quickly, do not ride the escalator, but run along it, so you need to take the right side. In general, everything is done for people, everywhere there are signs, guides, a bunch of additional reminders where you can stand, where you can’t, etc. I advise you to just walk the streets, see how people behave, spy on them, so to speak.
London makes its impression, it seemed to me so simple, not pretentious, direct. And people there do not worry about how they look, the main thing is that they feel comfortable. Well, it is clear that if you behave normally, then you have a great attitude. Everyone smiles, they will say sorry two hundred times.
Lots of interesting places, for example London of dangeon, this is the history of London not being as beautiful as it is now. And the times of Queen Victoria and Jack the Ripper, executions, torture, a lot of blood, the gallows - this is a separate episode. I recommend visiting this museum.
In general, you need to travel more, learn something new, broaden your horizons.
