We rested at the hotel in early May with the tour operator Mouzenidis Travel.
Good location - the city beach is nearby, a supermarket is around the corner, you can go for a walk around the city, see the parking of yachts and boats (the locals call it Marina), take a walk to the port and the embankment. The city itself is small - almost everything is nearby.
The hotel staff is caring and polite, they quickly solved the problems that arose. We had minor problems with the shower in our room upon arrival, we contacted the reception through the hotel guide - everything was done in half an hour.

The rooms themselves are small but have everything you need. We went to see the country and the island of Crete itself, so we did not expect to sit constantly in the room. In this regard, the weather let us down, as there was a small rain several times during our stay, but we still went out for a walk around the city. We also went to the entertainment program Cretan evening - we liked it very much. This program conveys the flavor of Greek culture.
The hotel has good cuisine - there is always a choice of dishes. Breakfast is usually scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, vegetables, cereal with milk. For dinner, there are always a couple of types of meat, fish, various salads and side dishes, fruits and sweets. The waiters bring the ordered drinks. Closer to our departure, the restaurant filled up quite quickly, so we had to wait a couple of times until the tables were free.
The hotel has a small swimming pool and sunbathing area.
The hotel does not have any entertainment program, but it will not be boring - Russian speakers rest in the hotel, there are bars and restaurants nearby. Sometimes in the evenings some foreigners were noisy at the billiards, but everything was within the permissible limits.
If I plan another trip to Crete and Agios Nikolaos in particular, then I will calmly go to Santa Marina again. The hotel justifies its low price. You will not eat oysters, but you will rest quite well.
If you decide to visit the Santa Marina Hotel, then say hello to the restaurant manager Petro. Before we left, we asked him to make us carrot juice, which was not on the menu, and received it in the morning, it was very nice to have such an attentive attitude!
